The cattle egret this time of year has a special beauty. It is decked out with special colors and feathers to attract a mate. How wonderful to see these beautiful birds at this time of year and especially to see them when the sun is quietly settling down for the night. It is as if they are caught in the spotlight just one more time before the sun finally sets. I love their incredible beauty and hope they will return tomorrow
Have a blessed night and a beautiful new day tomorrow !
We had foodie friends over for pizza dinner. My son cooks excellent pizza, and he offers some unusual creations, such as steak pizza, Chinese style duck pizza, Doppio Zero pizza with arugula and prosciutto di Parma, and a desert pizza with espresso. Since we have these dinners I don't feel like going to local pizza restaurants.
I processed a balanced and a realistic HDR photo from a RAW exposure, blended them selectively, and carefully adjusted the color balance and curves. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.

A view from Chambers Bay Golf Course and park in University Place, WA. These old cement structures are left over relics from the sand and gravel companies that were there for many decades. What a wise move to preserve the history and make the area even more interesting. Great photo ops for scenics and portraits as well.
The reason I edited this one was to try out Topaz' new upsizing software called AI Gigapixel. It is like Genuine Fractals and other software but this one uses artificial intelligence to make up the new pixels when upsizing and man does it ever work great!
So this was a huge crop that left less than 1500px to work with before uprezzing it to 2500 with AI Gigapixel. That gave me enough px to edit decently and reduce noise. I'll be using this workflow quite a bit and it opens up opportunities for low res files from the past or huge crops in the future. It would be a great way to prepare a file for a large print too.
Thank you for your warm and kind visits my amazing flickr friends. You are the best! :)

This rather interesting effect has resulted in DW245 looking like it's literally about to "take off" or fly away from the ground!
Also note the "Lakeside" blind, which I hope the driver didn't use for the return trip!
If buffers and chains scare you and you think trains do not exist outside of the US and Canada it might be a good time to unfollow. However if you like high hood ALCO's in exotic scenery then stay tuned. I took a 10 day long trip to India last week, officially for a wedding but of course being in the land of ALCO I had to get in some railfanning. Here Mhow-Khandwa Junction train 52975 eases down the steep Choral hill section on one of the last surviving meter gauge lines in the country.

Thanx for Viewin, Favin, and Commentin on my Stream!
I found this chestnut on a rainy October day. There were lots of people around, collecting chestnuts from the ground, but this one was still resisting on the tree. The local chestnuts are delicious and are used in everyday cooking.
Surrounded by the signs of busy farmers preparing the ground for another season's planting, an old farming trio sits totally idle as their days of use are over. Long after my father completed 40 plus years of farm work, each spring he would take drives through the countryside to see others doing what he once did. I often noticed a faraway look in his eyes as his agrarian heart traveled back in time to more familiar days.
Texas History
On this day in 1874 Susanna O'Docharty, pioneer woman and community leader, asked a priest to prepare her for death. Although she was ill, the padre saw no signs of death. "This is why I sent for you, I die tonight," she told him curtly, which she did. The Indiana native, born in 1804, moved with her husband to Texas sometime before 1831 to join the McMullen-McGloin colony, where they helped establish the town of San Patricio. Susanna helped establish a meeting between the people of Matamoros and the San Patricio colonists in 1832 at Banquete Creek. This grew into an annual festive occasion called El Lugar del Banquete. Mrs. O'Docharty became a leader of a group of San Patricio residents loyal to the Centralist Mexican government and influenced several other families to move with her family to Matamoros, where they lived until 1845, when Gen. Zachary Taylor's army brought a semblance of law and order back to the old city of San Patricio. Upon her family's return, she returned to her role of community leader and began teaching in her home when the community school closed. She gave her two sons a basic law background that enabled them to become respected lawyers and judges in San Patricio and Nueces counties. Tales of her strong character still exist, including that of how she retrieved her infant daughter's remains from Mexico. About a year after returning to Texas, she enlisted the aid of twelve-year-old Hubert Timon, and the two disappeared early one morning riding south. Two weeks later they reappeared with Susanna balancing a small coffin on her saddle horn.

When bedtime approaches they very carefully supervise and monitor me to ensure that I adhere to their schedule (which also provides them with the option of high quality snuggle time - or not as they choose). It's a pretty mundane type of preparation, nothing fancy like decorating for the holidays, but given how this week is going, that's as fancy as it will get.
