Europe, Netherlands, Noord Holland, Amsterdam, Zuid As, Postmodern entropy (slightly cut from all sides)
Shot somewhere in the ZuidAs quarter. Yes I know, ‘post-modern entropy’ is a pleonasm ;-) And there's ofcourse some neo-modernism goin' on too.
This is number 128 of the Amsterdam and number 317 of the Urban frontiers album.
Visited to explore a selection of books held by the Library relating to British South Asian History.
Quote is from Fernando Pessoa's The Book of Disquiet
Multiple exposure features the work he crumpled up, papers displayed at the museum featuring him in a large wooden chest. Discarded treasures. Architecture is a reflection from Lisbon, Portugal where his museum is and if you look closely, you can see a woman leaning from one of the windows.

habit minus morality is comfortable and easy to do
no one likes the new
not me or you
and so when rulers want to change you
for their good
keep your habits
keep being you.
Smurfit-Stone Building in the centre, built 1984 (so brand new back then), 41 floors, 177 m, style: postmodern, Architect Sheldon Schlegman, A. Epstein and Sons International Inc.

A Victorian-era postbox - dated 1870.
Playfair Street, 'The Rocks' - Sydney.
This cast iron, red painted, 'pillar box' was made by Triggs & Marr in 1870. It features a letter slot on two sides and a finial of a stylised Waratah (native flower) with embossed Acanthus leaves on top of the box.
Photographed in light rain on Playfair Street near the corner of Mill Lane, in Sydney.
On one of my night-time photography treks around the city and the harbour. On this occasion I had parked the car at Lavender Bay (on the northern side of the harbour) and walked across the harbour bridge, to photograph 'The Rocks' at night.
My Canon EOS 5D Mk IV with the Canon EF 16-35mm f/4L IS USM lens.

I am always so worried when these tyrants get in and roll back environmental protections that affect entities that can't even vote. Anyway, this mushroom was found in Scotland actually in a private park I didn't actually realize was private because there was an open gate I entered through and it was quite large. After exploring for awhile, I realized I couldn't actually leave the park because all of the gates were now closed and locked from the inside and I ran into an older woman who had family visiting from Eastern Europe who agreed to let me out when I explained what happened. "I guess I can't have you hopping the wall" she said as I felt vaguely like I had been trapped in some kind of postmodern fairy tale.
These were oddly the only mushrooms or cluster of mushrooms I found in Scotland despite it being so cool and damp when I was there, which surprised me.

Find something or someone you love. Think of only this at every protest...what the world would be like without this person is irreconcilable. Fight harder, fight stronger. Fight with the belief that if you can feel love, even our government officials can feel love and be changed for the better. When you are part of something, it is because you care about the world and you are ready to let the world be part of you too.
