it had been at least a week since we'd been to the beach, a place the two of us feel most at home.

Another Poppy receives some hair treatment today! 😍😍😍 Ma mademoiselle! ❤️❤️😍
Model: Positively Plaid Poppy Parker, hair-restyled by me.
clearly, i'm still getting the hang of the new film and my wonky black-out bag, (which doesn't work so well), but i like the ghostly results.

The daily FedEx Feeder flight from Austin, Texas, arrives in Memphis as the sun begins to liiuminate the day.
Offloaded with freight from Oakland, California, FedEx MD-11F N608FE waits in Memphis for cargo destined to Salt Lake City later in the afternoon.
Marching in from New Orleans like a Saint, N315FE has freight from the Big Easy to deliver in Memphis.
They were positively deranged and they were curious orange.
After a morning climbing fells it was back to Greenholme for a lazy relax in a spot that allows for photography in both directions.
Nuisance cloud would be stubborn to clear and so given the predominance of orange in the scene, I've opted for a bit of art, inspired by The Fall.
90010 and 90013 glide downhill at Greenholme with 4M83, 10.50 Coatbridge to Basford Hall.
Running early, as these Saturday diagrams tend to, had it been on time it would have been in sun, but no matter, that early running worked in my favour for 4M30/4S49.
Can't have it all.
Positively the last redo of these shots. The background isn't Arran, it's actually Cumbrae. I re-did the background by merging two shots for foreground and background. The background shot was filtered via a Cokin sunset grad.
Positively the essence of Masuria, loco Ol49 11 departs Rogale upon 04.50 Mikolajki-Elk passenger.
Well-utilised on various branch line diagrams, Elk's Ol49 11 will have been positioned at Mikolajki overnight.

On the FedEx ramp outside Hangar 11, an MD10-30F is loaded for a flight to Austin, Texas. The MD11F next door will layover until the following day.
i am grateful for my shop,
and how it hosted an event tonight with an extremely talented guest artist,
and was a place for eager creative hearts to gather,
and for the sweet friend who helped me put this window display together.
it's a special place, this shop of mine.
day 14 : a year of living positively
“It seems positively unnatural to travel without taking a camera along... The very activity of taking pictures is soothing and assuages general feelings of disorientation that are likely to be exacerbated by travel.”
Susan Sontag
Sending all you wonderful people positive vibes for the New Year!
As you can see not all flowers were in sync for the focus stack flash mob dance… yet feel content in embracing the imperfect beauty.
The dawn is breaking in Memphis as FedEx Flight 15 is completing its load for the flight to Narita, Japan.
"When it absolutely positively has to be there overnight" was Federal Express' successful advertising slogan in the 1970s/80s, successful since it was easily identified as their brand by the public in general. While probably including air shipments in that process, this trailer could probably come reasonably close to at least making it to the east coast in under 24 hours. Seen here flying along on NS train 20K (Chicago, IL, 63rd St., Park Manor Yard to Croxton, NJ, hotshot trailers/containers) passing the MP 369 vintage Type G intermediate signals on a cool but nice Saturday evening.

Another great one:
47403 ‘The Geordie’ Manchester Victoria Trans Pennine service
There is clean and then there is gleeming.
Recently named 47403 ‘The Geordie’ seems to glow as it departs Manchester Victoria with a trans pennine service on 24th February 1982.
The use of these ‘Generators’ on the Eastern Region allocated Trans-Pennine diagrams was fairly solid at this time having been displaced from most east coast services by HST’s and the Mklll sleeping cars on the overnights.
Having flown in from Seattle, Washington, the previous night, N528FE will fly from Memphis to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, later in the day.
Explore highest position at #51.
Thank you everyone!

Identified positively from Mark Norman's "Cephalopods of the World Guide." This attractive specimen was laying out in the open on the rubble at night, apparently asleep. I was able to get several shots (more to come). Body size about 15cm. Apparently very widely distributed from Hawaii to South Africa. I think my first encounter. Piti Channel at night never seems to disappoint! Nikkor 60mm macro lens.
She is a very cute and beautiful Poppy. Her screening is delicate and elegant, and her hair color a darker caramel instead of reddish. Against that almost porcelain skintone she looks super cute. However, cant shake the feeling I already have this Poppy in a few other similar versions as her screening looks very familiar.. As much as i love her, I havent been floored by her. Maybe I need to restyle her hair.
I first visited Leake Street tunnel under Waterloo Station a few years ago during my first Photo24 event. I've been back a few times since as there's always some new Street Art thanks to the way it's positively encouraged.
From Wikipedia : "Leake Street, also known as the "Banksy Tunnel" or "Graffiti Tunnel", is a road in Lambeth, London. It is about 300 metres long, runs off York Road and under the platforms and tracks of Waterloo station. The walls are decorated with graffiti - initially created during the "Cans Festival" organised by Banksy on 3-5 May 2008. A second edition of the Cans Festival on the August Bank Holiday week-end 2008."

Mmmmm...what a positively succulent orange dream! And Daisy ain't so bad herself. 😉
As I write, Daisy is on her way to get the oil changed in our car. And as you might expect, she wanted to do it on the way home from work. But sorry little lady...rules are rules.😋
It's one of those five minute places where you just sit in the car while they work. It's something she's done as Michael countless times before. But it is a safe bet she can expect the oil to flow a little differently...for pretty little Miss Daisy. You women out there know exactly what I mean....and so very soon, will Daisy. Welcome to the club, honey! 😜
Anyway, I will take advantage of my quiet time to post another snippet of Daisy's recent correspondence with a kindred spirit. And as before....it is quite the eye opener. 👀
Daisy:
"I think the main reason I have been slow to reply to you was that I have been a little scared to do it. I have my own email, but Tina wanted me to talk with you through her account. And I am sure she wanted it that way so she could read exactly what I was thinking. I think she knows that I might say things to someone in a similar position that I might be afraid to say to her. I know this and am scared by this yet at the same time I have the most incredible case of butterflies thinking about it. I know that when she reads this it will give her an even tighter grip on me and who knows what it may bring about. And I guess she'll know this too so I better stop before I bite off more than I can chew!"
Truer words were never spoken, eh? 😘💖
Oh and by the way....Daisy will be taking tomorrow and Friday off from work....and I expect it will be a thoroughly enjoyable long weekend. See ya! 💖💖

a year of living positively
I can highly recommend the Nikon 58mm f/1.4G. There's a very unique rendering about it, it positively glows at f/1.4 and the bokeh just slips gently away. Genuinely stunning. Many will consider it to be a portrait lens but frankly it's absolutely gorgeous on any subject matter. Ignore the negative reviews, they're written by philistines who wouldn't know an artistic lens even if it was delivered to them on a cavalcade on swans.
:: 5 :: on a day that feels like i can list 863 things that were wrong with it, a year of living positively has me looking for all the good instead.
and that is a very positive thing.
