A veces el mundo me queda pequeño,
no hay límites, ni fronteras...
Pero otras veces,
tan sólo mi cocina
se convierte en ese universo infinito
imposible de conquistar.

On a quiet, early morning in a small Italian town, the sun just rising, I met this dog. From his backyard he was observing what was going on outside on the street. Actually, at this time of the day, nothing was going on out there, except me. Thus, he watched me stoically, and the tranquility and sereneness of the situation made me stop and stand still and return his look. Then, an early car came down the street, and the dog's head turned to catch sight of it and slowly followed it down to the other side. After the car had disappeared, the dog's attention returned on me who was still standing there, fascinated.
Of all the hustle and bustle of the world outside, of all its noise and colours, its exultation and affliction, I thought, what does he know? All he can observe are the people passing by, most of them he will know, and once in a while a stranger like me. And the cars. And sometimes, I suppose, other dogs. That's about it. Like in Sokrates' allegory of the cave: what this dog perceives of the world is only the shadows it casts to his backyard.
Like everybody of us.
I don't know his name.
I call him Plato.

I am Plato, a local rescued cat. Amadeus is my uncle. He is not too fond of me, but let’s say, he tolerates me. I’m just over three months old, so we’ve time :-)
this seems to me like the embodiment of a house according to Plato. I found it today nearby my workplace (had to cut an apple-tree)
in Plato's Allegory of the Cave, the philosopher is like a prisoner who is freed from a cave where he was chained to a rock and could see only shadows projected on a wall. As he ventures out into the sunlight he comes to understand that what believed in the cave to be reality were merely shadows and not reality at all.
