Plas y Coed began life some time in the mid-18th century as Lime Grove, home to renowned architect Benjamin Wyatt.
Parts were added to the main building towards the later half of the 19th century (guttering is dated as 1863), and some time after that became a residential care home.
In May 2000 it became Grade II listed.

Year 6 staying at Plas Tan y Bwch, visiting Llechwedd Slate Quarries and walking on Snowdon.
