They came out of the corn stubble like some dark, malign force, scattering some of the snow geese. Then swam across a ditch & frolicked in the field like piglets. I kept thinking of a book my children had loved, "The Little Brute Family."
Here some Christmas pictures of my lovely dolls. Hope you all had a wonderful holidays!!
Now, get ready for New Year's Eve...!!

This is part of a complex of murals, painted on the walls of an abandoned motel on Highway 89, north of Flagstaff, near Grey Mountain, where SantaFeFCRs & I stopped on our drive home from the scentwork trial. A little Google research revealed that a local artist/doctor had brought in a group of street artists for this project, & facilitated a dialogue with the resident Navajo community. Apparently the doctor has been doing smaller installations in the area for years, & I'll be looking for more of them the next time I drive through this area.
It was hard to decide which photo to choose for the category. Here is an album that shows more of this extraordinary place:
Welcome to the Sears Neighborhood! A beautiful tree lined street where children play and life is good. The year is 1928.

Take me into your arms my love, hold me tight,
Make love to me throughout the night.
Show me that I am yours and that you are mine,
Forever until the end of time.
A beautiful display of Lilies, in vivid orange. The title suddenly came to mind, for those people of a certain age they may recall "Pictures of Lily" by The Who, a British Rock band, released in 1967 ……….. or perhaps they may wish not to admit they recall the song.

Sibley passed two Junior Hunt tests this weekend, & did a very nice job with stellar, pinpoint marking on the land marks in challenging cover. She looks proud of herself, doesn't she? Particularly chuffed from getting to retrieve the live shot flyer ducks. And I am proud, too, of her good work & fabulous attitude! She needs one more pass for her title, which won't happen 'til Spring, since these were the last tests of the season.
(Posing in front of the pond where the second day's water series was held. It was the judge's idea for me to pose her with 4 ducks, representing each of the marks she retrieved for the test.)

Dart with her 2nd place ribbon, and in our Exterior search, at the moment when she's telling me that she's found the hide. An elevated hide, behind that old implement, made particularly challenging by its placement right near a corner with a stiff wind blowing from behind us. She had to work hard for this one through distraction in the form of critter scent -- foxes & feral cats & who knows what else, with their poop visible all over the search area. Good focus & communication, Dart!
