Observé de loin, aperçu, entendu... Je n'ai jamais vraiment eu l'opportunité de le photographier correctement.
Ce jour, ils étaient 3 à égayer mon affût du soir.

Week 52 - Favourite Photo of the Year
I'm allowing myself two contributions to this week's theme as they have equal significance for me. This one I love because it's one of the first I produced for my newly-joined camera club, which has been a massive source of information and inspiration for me in 2015.
I've been trying to find my own 'style' attempting to develop an eye for backlit subjects, as I really love the dramatic slant this gives to the most ordinary objects. I was spoilt for subject matter here, as this was taken in the 'golden hour' at a well known garden in Bedfordshire - it's such a beautiful place and the pic doesn't really do it justice, but it kind of summed up my photographic journey through 2015.
Pic épeichette femelle , Female Lesser spotted woodpecker (Dendrocopos minor). This one was about 20 to 30 meters on top of our trees

Mâle, femelle et juvéniles avec une calotte rouge et le dessus du corps de coloration similaire à celle du Pic epeiche. Aussi, en été, risquent- ils d'être confondus avec des jeunes de cette espèce. S'en distinguent par l'absence de contour noir autour de la calotte rouge; des joues blanches, non bordées de noir; un petit triangle noirâtre aux côtés du cou se prolongeant, en pointillé, sur les flancs; les sous - caudales rouge pâle, sans délimitation nette avec le ventre blanc rosâtre.
