Inside the Elliot Building at UVic, one of the first four campus buildings constructed in the early 1960s... and I don't think this has ever been renovated. I love the sign that looks to be hand-painted.

ahhh

i think the drawing has some proportion errors. but still, dont you love highschool physics ?

If you zoom in on this picture, you can see the opic & suspension at the other end of the beam tube.

Here is the photodiode. It has a glass window on it which we need to remove in order to prevent scattered light, parasitic interferometers, etc.

The CORE Science Institute hosted its week-long summer STEM institute at SLAC for underrepresented youth in the local community. This year’s 18 students matriculated from Ile Omode School in Oakland.

Here are some new physics and astronomy titles that have been purchased over the past couple of months. Place your cursor over a book's cover to receive more information. Click on the "Check for availability" link in the note to see a book's status in the Library's online catalog.

All the doodles in this gallery are from the sixtysymbols.com video project and were usually drawn by physicists while they were being filmed.

The Physics Department at the University of Miami has 18 faculty whose experimental and theoretical research spans disciplines from String Theory to Optics, and Condensed Matter to Astrophysics. Our graduate curriculum provides for dissertation research at the forefront of a broad range of disciplines. Undergraduates enjoy the benefits of small class sizes and research opportunities in these same fields. We invite you to learn more about our program and our faculty by exploring the links on this page.

The surroundings are reflected in a puddle of water. The photograph is taken with a polarizing filter, set so as to allow the maximum amount of light through.

A Time Projection Chamber is like a 3-D camera that captures images of the flight of subatomic particles. The TPC is at the heart of the STAR detector, now at RHIC in Brookhaven.

This simulations shows how energy oscillations in a boiling water reactor—one of the most common nuclear reactors used to generate electricity—evolve from core-wide to regional. Those centrally concentrated red peaks shift to a much more wave-like distribution by the end. The data provides key information that helps scientists enhance safety and efficiency in these common reactors. CREDIT: Nuclear Science and Technology Department

The Physics Building (I think) at Exeter University on a glorious Winter day in 1982 or 1983.

The University Campus is supposed to be one of the best in the country being set over rolling Devon hills above the city. This building is at the highest point and visible from just about anywhere in Exeter.
