Israel delays aid trucks from Egypt to Gaza "France sent technical equipment to help Gazans draw water from the ground. The Swiss sent blankets and plastic tarps. Mercy Corps, a relief agency, sent 12 truckloads of food. And on Tuesday all of it, including dozens of other trucks carrying sugar, rice, flour, juice and baby formula, sat in the hot sun here going nowhere."
"All our lunchmeat, it's all going to go bad," said Abdullah "We have trucks we loaded up five days ago still sitting here, waiting." said said Hany.
At the United Nations, John Holmes, an emergency relief coordinator, said the scale of the destruction meant that far more than the current movement of aid was needed urgently. "Enough will always be allowed in for people to exist, but not enough for the conditions for people to live,"

INFORMATION ON NAVAJO INDIAN WEAVING:
There is an ageless beauty to Navajo weaving. Navajo weavings are many things to people. Above all else, Navajo weavings are masterworks, regardless of whose criteria of art is used to judge them. They are evocative, timeless portraits which, like all good art, transcend time and space. Navajo weaving has captured the imagination of many not only because they are beautiful, well-woven textiles but also because they so accurately mirror the social and economic history of Navajo people. Succinctly, Navajo women wove their life experiences into the pieces.
Navajo people tell us they learned to weave from Spider Woman and that the first loom was of sky and earth cords, with weaving tools of sunlight, lightning, white shell, and crystal. Anthropologists speculate Navajos learned to weave from Pueblo people by 1650. There is little doubt Pueblo weaving was already influenced by the Spanish by the time they shared their weaving skills with Navajo people. Spanish influence includes the substitution of wool for cotton, the introduction of indigo (blue) dye, and simple stripe patterning. Besides the "manta" (a wider-than-long wearing blanket), Navajo weavers also made a tunic-like dress, belts, garters, hair ties, men's shirts, breechcloths, and a "serape-style" wearing blanket. These blankets were longer-than-wide and were patterned in brown, blue and white stripes and terraced lines.

I have been a HUGE fan of this man's work for a very longtime. I have played at many of the theatres he has designed. He is a Theater Designer and has worked on some of the most recognized theatres in the WORLD. It was an honor to get to spend a few hours with him and get to see him work! He showed me ALL the work he has done in his lifetime, I got to sit with him at his desk where he creates and designs these masterpieces!!!!!! I kept having to stop and just take it all in, when you have followed a person's work, and then get to actually sit and see them work, it is breathtaking. He is an ARTIST in every sense of the world. He knew he wanted to design theatres at the tender age of 4, when his mom took him to see a show. The lights, colors, textures, patterns, dancers, actors, etc all left a lifetime impression on him that lasts till this very day! He has miniature 1/8 scale models of all of his work, the intricate details that he puts into his models is beyond AMAZING!!! I feel truly inspired, blessed, and privileged to be one of the few people that have taken his portrait. He has invited me over to do more and also he let me know I can use his studio to do photoshoots anytime I want to. His studio in itself is a work of art, I will be sharing more pics of his studio and models in the days to come. I hope you enjoy this picture as much as I do.

P.S. My Hard Drive crashed yesterday, which is a bummer, but all is not lost. I was able to retrieve ALL of my Raw files, however lost ALL of my post processed pics. I only was able to retrieve my web resolution shots. So I have A LOT of work to do, but it is ok. I get to wake up and do what I LOVE to do everyday!

Congregation Ohab Zedek, or OZ, as it is fondly known, is more than just a synagogue. Under the leadership of Rabbi Allen Schwartz, the Shul is known for its open doors and big heart. OZ has broad ties with the surrounding Jewish community and its Upper West Side neighborhood as a whole. A random visitor could easily encounter an up and coming scholar from Israel, or members of the local fire station. It is an informal, comfortable, inclusive community.
OZ is a modern Orthodox congregation, but any individual is welcome, regardless of background or means. It is a Shul of interlocking communities--young families who find a relaxed setting on Shabbos morning to introduce their toddlers to services; singles, who famously crowd the steps on Friday night; and seniors, many of whom have been members of OZ for decades. It is home to those tentatively exploring Judaism as well as the most learned, who are stimulated by a broad array of lecturers and classes.
OZ is known for its wide range of Chesed activities, which include a long-time Bikur Cholim group that visits Mount Sinai Hospital each Shabbos and on holidays, as well as its members' regular visits to homebound seniors. Members also subsidize seats for those in need on Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur.
OZ has a proud history. The Shul was founded in 1873 on Avenue B and Houston Street on the Lower East Side as the First Hungarian Congregation Ohab Zedek. After a sojourn on West 116th Street in Harlem, the Congregation moved to its present location at 118 West 95th Street in 1926. Today, as part of a revitalized Upper West Side that has drawn an ever-expanding population of families and young adults, OZ is a vibrant and dynamic Jewish center for prayer, learning and social activities.

The first news of the existence of the church of Sant Julià goes back to years 1136 and 1138. The conserved oldest part of the medieval church corresponds to the present chapel of Dolors (sorrows). The used equipment is of ashlars well fitted and cut. They are left also two lateral gothic chapels.
The present church of Sant Julià is a Renaissance building constructed between years 1631 and 1647, during the “War of Segadors (reapers)”. It is a church of a single nave, 40 by 12 meters, with six lateral chapels by side, semi-circular arch and barrel vault. The apse is pentagonal and the main vault is maintained by semicircular archs and is composed by five pointed vaults with nerves and decorated key. In the main facade it emphasizes the great baroque gate conformed by four columns that maintain friso. The bell tower, built before the church between 1622-1627, conserves the romanesque base and an inner chapel gothic covered with barrel vault.
In the chapel of Dolors (sorrows) there are an important franc-gothic painting set mural discovered during the restoration of the chapel made in 1968. The set occupies about 50 m² and has been dated around year 1300. It is conformed by three sections, the central is an allegorical representation of the tree of the Cross, and the lateral compositions are formed by scenes of the life of Jesus, Saint John Baptist and Saint John Evangelist.
In October 2007 it was declared "Cultural good of national interest" in the category of Historical Monument.
The Catalan Revolt (known in Catalan as the Guerra dels Segadors or Reapers' War) affected a large part of Catalonia between the years of 1640 and 1659. It had an enduring effect in the Treaty of the Pyrenees, which ceded the county of Roussillon and the northern half of the county of Cerdanya to France (see French Cerdagne), thereby splitting the Catalan population.
The war had its roots in the discomfort generated in Catalan society by the presence of Castilian troops during the wars between France and Spain as part of the Thirty Years' War. Catalan peasants were forced to quarter Castilian troops and responded on Corpus Christi day with an uprising known as 'Bloody Corpus' (Catalan Corpus de Sang), under the slogans "Long live the faith of Christ!", our lord", "Long live the land, death to bad government". This 'Bloody Corpus' of 1640, which began with the death of a reaper and led to the somewhat mysterious death of the Count of Santa Coloma, viceroy of Catalonia, marked the beginning of the conflict. The irregular militia were known as 'Miquelets'.
Pau Claris, head of the Generalitat of Catalonia, turned the social unrest of the Catalans into a political cause and proclaimed a Catalan Republic. The Generalitat obtained an important military victory in the battle of Montjuïc (January 26, 1641). A little later, the death of Pau Claris created a difficult local and international situation, which resulted in the proclamation of Louis XIII of France as count of Barcelona and sovereign of Catalonia, Lluís I de Barcelona.
The conflict extended beyond the Peace of Westphalia, which concluded the Thirty Years' War in 1648, with the confrontation between two sovereigns and two Generalitats, one based in Barcelona, under the control of Spain and the other in Perpinyà (Perpignan), under the occupation of France. In 1652 the French authorities renounced Catalonia, but held control of Roussillon, thereby leading to the signing of the Treaty of the Pyrenees in 1659.

CASTELLANO

One of the most beautiful and charming places in Paris - smaller and more intimate than the Tuileries and the Luxembourg gardens. A place to rest in, relax, shop, and watch people surrounded by magnificent architecture.
Originally known as the Place Royale, the Place des Vosges was built by Henri IV from 1605 to 1612. A true square (140 m x 140 m), it embodied the first European program of royal city planning. The Place des Vosges, inaugurated in 1612 with a grand carrousel to celebrate the wedding of Louis XIII and Anne of Austria, is the prototype of all the residential squares of European cities that were to come. What was new about the Place Royale in 1612 was that the housefronts were all built to the same design, probably by Baptiste du Cerceau, of red brick with strips of stone quoins over vaulted arcades that stand on square pillars.

I walked up to the tree, admiring the tiny white flowers on the branches
Not long ago, these trees held nothing; all the leaves had died
I asked the flowers, "What made you decide to bloom this year?
Why didn't you stay hidden in your branches, where it was safe?
Why do you always do the same thing every year?"
They looked back at me and quivered slightly with the wind
"Well," the flowers said, "the world is sad and dreary for so long
and we bring happiness back to it."
I considered this. "What makes people so happy when spring comes?"
The flowers looked up at the sun. "Change," the smallest bloom sighed.
"The world needs that every once in a while; it brings happiness.
If the world did not need to change, then we would never grow."
I nodded and smiled at the idea. I hadn't thought of it that way before.
I could only hear the slight rustle of the branches as I walked back the way I had come.

House Finch (carpodacus mexicanus)-is a medium-sized finch.
Adults have a long brown tail and are a brown or dull-brown color across the back with some shading into deep grey on the wing feathers. Breast and belly feathers may be streaked. In most cases, adult males have a reddish color to their heads, necks and shoulders. This color sometimes extends to the stomach and down the back, between the wings. The male coloration varies in intensity with the seasons and is derived from the berries and fruits in its diet. As a result, the colors range from pale, straw yellow, to bright orange, to deep, intense red. Adult females have brown upperparts and streaked underparts.
These birds are mainly permanent residents; some eastern birds migrate south. Their breeding habitat is urban and semi-open areas from southern Canada to Mexico.
House Finches forage on the ground or in vegetation. They primarily eat grains, seeds and berries, being voracious consumers of weed seeds such as nettle and dandelion; included are incidental small insects, such as aphids and plant lice. They are frequent visitors to feeders throughout the year, particularly if stocked with sunflower seeds or Nyjer/thistle seed, and will congregate at hanging Nyjer sock feeders. They are considered a pest in fruit orchards.
Nests are made in cavities, including openings in buildings, and also on various kinds of vegetation, sometimes nests abandoned by other birds will be used. Nests may be re-used for subsequent broods or in following years. The nest is built by the female, sometimes in as little as two days. It is well made of twigs and debris, forming a cup shape, usually 1.5m to 2m above the ground.
Eggs are laid from February through August, two or more broods per year with 2 to 6 eggs per brood. The eggs are a pale, bluish-green with few black spots and a smooth, somewhat glossy surface. The female incubates the eggs for 12 to 14 days and the young leave the nest about 11 to 19 days after hatching. Dandelion seeds are among the preferred seeds fed to the young.
During courtship, the male may present the female with choice bits of food and, if she imitates the posture of a hungry chick, he may actually feed her. The male may also feed the female during the breeding and incubation period.
House Finches are one of the few birds that are aggressive enough to keep House Sparrows out of their birdhouse and evict them.
Originally only a resident of Mexico and the southwestern United States, they were introduced to eastern North America in the 1940s. The birds were being sold illegally in New York while marketed as the "Hollywood Finch." Many vendors and owners released the birds into the wild in order to avoid prosecution. The released birds spread rapidly and, in some unforested areas, have displaced the native Purple Finch. In 1870, they were introduced into Hawaii.

There is no great big ending, no sunset in the sky
There is no string ensemble, and she doesn't even cry
And just as I begin to say that we should make another try
She reaches out across the table looks at me and quietly says good-bye
There is no big explosion, no tempest in the tea
The world does not stop turning round, there's no big tragedy
Sitting in a coffee shop with cheesecake and some apple pie
She reaches out across the table looks at me and quietly says good-bye
Good-bye, said so easily, Good-bye, said so quietly
Good-bye, good-bye, good-bye,
just two always strangers avoid each other's eyes
One still make believing, one still telling lies,
she tells me that I'm not to blame
But when I ask the reason why
She reaches out across the table looks at me and quietly says good-bye
Good-bye, said so easily. Good-bye, said so quietly
Good-bye, good-bye, good-bye
She reaches out across the table looks at me and quietly says good-bye
Good-bye (she quietly says) / sung by Frank Sinatra

ENGLISH
Located near the highest point of the Muntanyes de Prades range, of which region it is the capital, the ‘red town’ of Prades, which gets its name from the characteristic red stone of the area, is located in the middle of a plateau at an altitude of 940 m, in a densely forested part of the comarca (roughly equivalent to a county) of Baix Camp in the province of Tarragona.
In the surroundings there are traces of prehistoric settlement, some neolithic, and also of Iberian/Pre Roman times. There is as yet no clear historical record until the time of the Reconquista (the reconquest by Christian forces of territory formerly under Saracen control) in the 1150s. At that time, these mountains were of key strategic importance and served as a defence line against the Saracens who had settled in the area around Siurana. Once Lleida and Tortosa fell to the Christian forces, Siurana was besieged and finally conquered, the Saracens were banished and the territory then settled by the victors. The political centre of gravity of the range then moved from Siurana to Prades, which received its township charter in 1159.
It is important to remember the Counts of Prades were always prominent in matters of internal politics and in the campaigns of expansion across the Mediterranean, and that in the grandest age of the County, as direct descendants of the King, they ranked high amongst the Catalan nobility. Their aristocratic power lasted until Mendizabal’s land disentailment law of 1835 and the title of Count of Prades is still preserved in the line of the Dukes of Medinaceli.
During the War of Separation (also known as the war of the Segadors) in the 17th century, in which Catalonia fought against Spain, the county of Prades was an important war zone. As a result of that war, parts of the walls and the castle were destroyed.

CASTELLANO

That's my little guy...turning 3 in 6 days. I'm not sure I'm ready for that. I thought 2 was bad, but 3, it seems so old, so non-toddlerish. He's been acting so old lately. He's sick right now, and told me this morning that he needed "medisum" and has to go to the hospital to get a shot, then said he needed "ear pops" (ear drops) lol. He kisses me when I'm sad and tells me it'll be ok. He usually gets up in the middle of the night and runs to our bed, and I'm ok with this because every morning I'm awaken by him saying "mommy, I sleep good, now give me a hug" and he'll hug me, then say "and a kiss" and I get a big smooch. He's potty trained, which I always hoped for by age 3 but didn't expect it to come so easily. Word of advice for those wanting to train soon, wait til they are ready!!! We tried when he turned 18 months up until recently and we would have saved a lot of stress and messes if we just waited til he was ready for it.
Age 3...that means 2 more years until he goes to school. God help me.

Then we were inside her car.
Passenger seats, second row.
The lights blinded as they flew past, but we were silent.
Then we kissed.
They were little kisses, escaped little bits of air in between our lips.
The dark enveloped our touch, and I lost my mind. As she kept breathing, the car receded in flame, and we were floating.
Like little specks of dust into the ether.
They wouldn't be noticeable to anyone who walks to quickly, but when you paused,
I bet you could see us.
Holding hands, and just feeling each others hearts fade in and out.
I wanted to die remembering this taste, her and me and feeling free.
The skyline shifted as we turned corners, and we descended.
The car came to a slow, and I pulled away, and looked into the eyes of the one I could stay three inches from for a lifetime.
Her and I, well you haven't seen much before us.

I captured this image of the Tricolored Heron at the Shark Valley section of Everglades National Park in Florida. According to Wikipedia, the Tricolored Heron (formerly known in North America as the Louisiana Heron, is a small heron and a resident breeder from the Gulf of Mexico states of the USA and northern Mexico south through Central America and the Caribbean to central Brazil and Peru. There is some post-breeding dispersal to well north of the nesting range. Tricolored heron's breeding habitat is sub-tropical swamps. It nests in colonies, often with other herons, usually on platforms of sticks in trees or shrubs. In each clutch, 3–7 eggs are typically laid. This species measures from 22 to 30 inches (56 - 76cm) long and has a wingspan of 38 inches (96cm). The slightly larger male heron weighs about 14 /12 ounces (415gm) on average, while the female averages 11.8 ounces (334gm). It is a medium-large, long-legged, long-necked heron with a long pointed yellowish or greyish bill with a black tip. The legs and feet are dark. Adults have a blue-grey head, neck, back and upperwings, with a white line along the neck. The belly is white. In breeding plumage, they have long blue filamentous plumes on the head and neck, and buff ones on the back. The tricolored heron stalks its prey in shallow or deeper water, often running as it does so. It eats fish, crustaceans, reptiles, and insects.

In the old school at St Fagans in 2007, a group of welsh primary school children had to dress and have a day at school exactly as they would have done just before WW1 (less any necessary caning).
Watching them trying to cope with nibbed pens and inkwells was quite good fun, as was listening to the sound of absolute silence in the classroom, and iron discipline dispensed by the (very attractive) schoolmistress, also in period costume.
I had to take this shot without the benefit of a tripod, at a 1/2 second exposure, handheld, so plenty of intensly "arty" blur from the old Ikonta's 105mm f/4.5 Novar lens.
I quite like the result though.

Accommodations in the Amazon aren't that plentiful. Our choice was Ariau Towers. For those familiar with the Survivor TV Show, this was the hotel the film crew stayed in during the taping of Survivor: The Amazon. The hotel looked like it had seen better days, but then again the conditions are rather harsh. It's hard to describe how much the area floods, hence everything being built on stilts. Some of the more famous guests have included Bill Gates, Jimmy Carter, Susan Sarandon, Alanis Morissette, etc... This picture is the interior of one of the towers. Our room was the one on the left.
With all that said, probably one of the things I will remember most from this location was our guide. He told us of how they would paddle on the river two hours one-way to the nearest school each day. He was currently in the midst of teaching himself his fifth language. His determination to better himself was inspiring.
Enjoy the weekend.
Thanks for looking!

Not completely happy with today's 365 photo... but that's okay. You can't win them all!
I suppose this is my attempt at getting in the spirit for Christmas (which I'm really not.)
I'm miss home and bucket loads of snow! Scotland is great, but there is no snow (and probably wont be for Christmas! Boooo) Though, there is no shortage of hot chocolate with baileys and curling up under warm blankets, so that is nice!
Song of the Day - St. Vincent (with Andrew Bird) - What Me Worry
(this video makes me react in unexplainable ways... it is probably what I would consider the best video on youtube... so PLEASE watch it! Oh, and also... I fucking LOVE the lyrics, and can relate to them in a big way)
"What me worry? I never do
I'm always amused and amusing you
Sans le fear of impending doom
Life is like banquet food: pleasure to peruse
Do I amuse you, dear? Would you think me queer
if while standing beside you I opted instead to disappear? Disappear
In no hurry I'll sing my tune
All my skies the hue of a ruddy bruise
In my finest threads couture I'll call up my favorite muse
for a drink - half full - or two
Have I abused you, dear? You have had it to here
You say, "Love is just a bloodmatch to see who
endures lash after last with panache"
In the spring I'll dust off my lute, stuff my suitcase full of blues
and stir the dust underneath the thrust of my clicking heels
C'est la vie
What me worry? I never do
Life is one charming ruse for us lucky few
Have I fooled you, dear?
The time is coming near when I'll give you my hand and I'll say,
"It's been grand, but... I'm out of here
I'm out of here" "

A facón is a dagger worn at the back and tucked into the belt of the gaucho in order to be quickly drawn with the right hand. Used in the South American pampas, they are often seen with a decorated metal hilt and sheath. The facón could measure some fifty centimeters in length, and there are even examples of knives up to seventy five centimeters long.
The facón was an important tool of the gaucho and the main article of combat for the duelo criollo. When used in this context, one hand held the knife, and the poncho was wrapped about the opposite arm to absorb cuts and stabs.

Oda a mirar pájaros
Ahora
a buscar pájaros!
Las altas ramas férreas
en el bosque,
la espesa
fecundidad del suelo,
está mojado
el mundo,
brilla
lluvia o rocío, un astro
diminuto
en las hojas:
fresca
es la matutina
tierra madre,
el aire
es como un río
que sacude
el silencio,
huele a romero,
a espacio
y a raíces.
Arriba
un canto loco,
una cascada,
es un pájaro.
Cómo
de su garganta
más pequeña que un dedo
pueden caer las aguas
de su canto?
Facultad luminosa!
Poderío
invisible,
torrente
de la música
en las hojas,
conversación sagrada!
Limpio, lavado, fresco
es este día,
sonoro
como cítara verde,
yo entierro
los zapatos
en el lodo,
salto los manantiales,
una espina
me muerde y una ráfaga
de aire como una ola
cristalina
se divide en mi pecho.
Dónde
están los pájaros?
Fue tal vez
ese
susurro en el follaje
o esa huidiza bola
de pardo terciopelo
o ese desplazamiento
de perfume? Esa hoja
que desprendió el canelo
fue un pájaro? Ese polvo
de magnolia irritada
o esa fruta
que cayó resonando,
eso fue un vuelo?
Oh pequeños cretinos
invisibles,
pájaros del demonio,
váyanse
al diablo
con su sonajera,
con sus plumas inútiles!
Yo que solo quería
acariciarlos,
verlos resplandeciendo,
no quiero
en la vitrina
ver los relámpagos embalsamados,
quiero verlos vivientes,
quiero tocar sus guantes
de legítimo cuero,
que nunca olvidan en las ramas,
y conversar con ellos
en los hombros
aunque me dejen como a ciertas estatuas
inmerecidamente blanqueado.
Imposible.
No se tocan,
se oyen
como un celeste
susurro o movimiento,
conversan
con precisión,
repiten
sus observaciones,
se jactan
de cuanto hacen,
comentan
cuanto existe,
dominan
ciertas ciencias
como la hidrografía
y a ciencia cierta saben
dónde están cosechando
cereales.
Ahora bien,
pájaros
invisibles
de la selva, del bosque,
de la enramada pura,
pájaros de la acacia
y de le encina,
pájaros
locos, enamorados,
sorpresivos,
cantantes,
vanidosos,
músicos migratorios,
una palabra
última
antes
de volver
con zapatos mojados, espinas
y hojas secas
a mi casa:
vagabundos,
os amo
libres,
corolas
fugitivas,
así
os amo,
inasibles,
solidaria y sonora
sociedad de la altura,
hojas
en libertad,
campeones
del aire,
pétalos
del humo,
libres,
alegres,
voladores y cantores,
aéreos y terrestres,
navegantes del viento,
felices
constructores
de suavísimos nidos,
incesantes
mensajeros del polen,
casamenteros
de la flor, tíos
de la semilla,
os amo,
ingratos:
vuelvo
feliz de haber vivido con vosotros
un minuto
en el viento.

I had a shoot yesterday that was billed as a competition between photographers, sort of a "Battle to Win". However, since it took place in the hard core inner city--shooting amongst graffiti laced walls while dodging traffic--I prefer to call this competition 'Urban Combat'.
There were about a dozen photographers and an equal number of models, however as I worked with just a few models, I will post images from those 4 here.
Enjoy!
____
UPDATE: Oct 23 ... VOTE FOR ME
It finally happened--the competition website is up and running.
I'd really appreciate if you can take a minute and vote on my pics...just click on the pics (Photographer 11) and then underneath it select the rating...5's would be fantastic. :-)
Note: We were officially allowed to submit 2 pics per model we'd shot with, however at least half of the other photographers went overboard and flaunted the rules entirely, some posting 4, 5, or even 7 pics of several of their models! C'est la vie.
UPDATE: Oct 21
The organizer had a change of heart and thanks to the help of another photographer has decided to let me back in to the competition, saying something about it not being fair to the models if I was not part of this. However, I still have no answers for what happened earlier. :-(

I was up at 4am shooting the sunrise. For 2 hours, I heard nothing but surf and the wind and didn't see another soul. Talk about putting things in perspective.

The kids live in a sleep-deprived culture. Our society has been very cavalier about our disregard for needing sleep. Changing school times is just a small piece of the discussion.
So yeah... Last night was bad. I couldn't sleep no matter how hard I tried, so I stayed up texting a friend of mine because he was sick and not able to sleep either. We kept each other company. I tossed and turned and just gave up.
Then I thought... I started to pray. Not the regular, "Our father, who art in heaven..." but I just started talking.... It was kind of nice to just talk. Then I directed it towards my aunt. I spent a good half an hour to an hour doing that. After I was finished, I just lied still and waited until the alarm went off.
But the weird thing was... I was completely hyper and energetic running on empty. My friends were getting a bit annoyed/scared haha.
Anyway, I'm off to teach karate! I have to be a hard-ass tonight =/ Well, oh well. It's their promotional tomorrow.
Anyway, now that teaching is over... I have more and more shit to deal with. Have you every felt so useless as your best friend tells you how much she wants to die? I have. I feel it right now. If she goes through with this, it will be another death on my hands, more blood. Another death I had to sit by and watch because there was nothing I could do. What's wrong with me? I used to be so good at helping people.
And now I don't know if she's listening.
"As I look out outside
I can see the rain about to start
The air is damp but warm
And I remember how you used to feel
And I see your face
My cold reflection scares me at this hour
How I wish I could sleep
If only I could slow my mind a bit
(Chorus)
Then when I see you I forget the pain
And melt away with you
Only a day is passed and
I can't help but feel that I've lost you
Your room confines my thoughts
And then my worries drift when I'm with you
But I don't want to live
I never know just when we'll meet again
(Chorus)
What is it that feeds this
Haven't I learned enough from yesterday
I really don't need this
Haven't I had enough of this today
Then I sit at home
My walls reflect how my life is so bleak
And I feel so alone
I break down and call you 'cuz I'm weak
If I can see what you are
If I could blow away my clouded sight
Realize you made me a fool
If I mean nothing what else can I say
(Chorus)
I've lost you
I've lost you."

Anatidae is the biological family that includes the ducks and most duck-like waterfowl, such as geese and swans. These are birds that are evolutionarily adapted for swimming, floating on the water surface, and in some cases diving in at least shallow water. (The Magpie-goose is no longer considered to be part of the Anatidae, but is placed in its own family Anseranatidae.)
Extant species range in size from the Cotton Pygmy Goose, at as little as 26.5 cm (10.5 inches) and 164 grams (5.8 oz), to the Trumpeter Swan, at as much as 183 cm (6 ft) and 17.2 kg (38 lb). They have webbed feet and bills which are flattened to a greater or lesser extent. Their feathers are excellent at shedding water due to special oils. Anatidae are remarkable for being one of the few families of birds that possess a penis; they are adapted for copulation on the water only. Duck, eider, and goose feathers and down have long been popular for bedspreads, pillows, sleeping bags and coats. The members of this family also have long been used for food.
The reclaimed wetlands of the river Foix estuary have made this area into one of the main attractions of the town. The River Foix, which is dry during most of the year due to construction of the Foix Resservoir is another of the most emblematic places in Cubelles. At the Foix estuary, you can spend the day enjoying nature and birthwatching, or at one of the picnic areas. This zone is also intended for school visits, as it is a place where children can study the ecosystem of a Mediterranean river such as the Foix.
The estuary is separated from the sea by a sand barrier which has accumulated over time, due to sea currents and rainwater sediments, forming freshwater laguens behind the barrier. The natural area of the Foix Delta has a branch of land that sticks out into the sea. This was formed during the floods of 1994 and joins onto another branch, leaving an island in the middle. Tourists can visit the island by crossing a wooden footbridge.

CASTELLANO
