This was her passport photo for her first (and last) trip to Scotland since she was a little girl to visit her father's sister, my great aunt Elizabeth. She took my oldest brother Jon with her, and promised to take me someday but never did.
She travelled the world as she got older, but never returned to Scotland again. Before she died, my daughter visited the University of Edinburgh. Mom again talked about going to Scotland (she was in her late 70's at that point), but she was too infirm to make the trip.
I went to Scotland a couple of years ago when I turned 50 and my daughter was enrolling in Graduate School at the University of Edinburgh. I found most of the family locations that she told me about and many that she didn't....
Photobooth is the modern equivalent of staring at the outside of a shiny teapot for facially distorted fun. Kirbs is the undisputed master of Apple's Photobooth in our house. The kids are kept amused for hours with the pictures and movies made with this software.

Faye could hear other people thinking. She couldn't tell WHAT they were thinking. She just heard a buzz like a busy signal.
Today I brought Santa (the chocolate version). He didn't last long, and lost his head. Was yummy though!
