A new mural by Phlegm, just off Ecclesall Road on Snuff Mill Lane, painted in October 2016 for the Feature Walls Festival. As well as incorporating the building's security alarms into the mural, Phlegm has cleverly integrated the wall's original jumping boy street art by Bubba 2000 into his mural, the jumping boy can be seen caged in one of the towers towards the centre of the wall!
This four storey mural on the northern wall of the historical
"Love and Lewis Building", built in 1913, was commissioned by the Chapel Street Precinct Association as part of the "Provocaré: Festival Of The Arts".

Phlegm is the working name for his artwork and a small press comic. The name phlegm came from one of the four bodily humours in ancient Greek medicine, blood, yellow bile, black bile and phlegm. Phlegm was believed to be responsible for an apathetic and unemotional temperament. He has been painting again this time on Sharrow Vail Road

Another fantastic wall mural by Phlegm. This one is just off Ecclesall Road on Snuff Mill Lane and was painted in October 2016 for Feature Walls.

Born in North Wales and now residing in Sheffield, UK, cartoonist and illustrator Phlegm is well known for his self-published comics and amazing graffiti/street art. Many of the larger-than-life characters that adorn the walls he spray paints originate from his comics.
Much of his artwork is illustration-based, thus his lack of true graffiti-style lettering may lead some to describe his murals/walls as more cartoon-based art. Regardless of what you may categorize his work as, it is unique and intriguing.

Phlegm's Rare & Racy Reader
Phlegm is one of the UK’s most followed street artists at the moment and a Sheffielder to boot. He’s described Rare & Racy as ‘by far my favorite shop in Sheffield’. In February 2015 he returned to Sheffield to paint another of his beautiful monochrome wall murals just above the signage of the store between the first floor windows.
Rare & Racy has been going since 1969, but sadly it’s future has become pretty uncertain as developers plan to demolish the building it inhabits along with several other unique independent stores. On Tuesday 24th March 2015 the council gave planning permission for the Devonshire Street shops to be pulled down and rebuilt. This is despite a large and very vocal campaign against this (almost 20K signed a petition against the proposals and hundreds turned up to protest outside the Town Hall).
While the building still stands don’t miss Phlegm’s other wall mural on the back of the building. It’s a large scale work and a real hidden gem!
Not far down the road is another one of his mural’s on Westfield Terrace.

A work in progress! Phlegm is currently painting a new mural on the side of the old Taylor Eye Witness Works to coincide with his amazing “Mausoleum of the Giants” exhibition which is currently inside the Works on Milton Street until 6th April. Wednesday 3rd April 2019.
