Phlegm, good graffiti artist. This place was a wreck, an absolutely horrible place, but it did have some good graffiti. This had once been a cutlery works. Knife, cutlery, guillotine and machine knives were all made here in the past. It looks like it has been closed for many years now. It was nice to find some interesting graffiti in amongst the wreckage. As well as stuff by Phlegm, and Kid Acne, there was a lot of good little written things. It appears to be the home of a lot of smackheads at the moment. It seemed strangely ironic that the only steel on the site that I could see was the spoons and the needles amongst the ruins.

Phlegm's Feature Walls

Location: Snuff Mill Lane

Another fantastic wall mural by Phlegm. This one is just off Ecclesall Road on Snuff Mill Lane and was painted in October 2016 for Feature Walls.

Phlegm has cleverly integrated the original street art by Bubba 2000 that could originally be found on this wall into his mural. Bubba’s jumping boy can be seen caged in one of the towers towards the centre of the wall. The security alarms on the wall have also been incorporated into his artwork.

Phlegm is the working name for all his artwork and small press comic. The name phlegm came from one of the four bodily humours in ancient Greek medicine, blood, yellow bile, black bile and phlegm. Phlegm was believed to be responsible for an apathetic and unemotional temperament.

The comic's ethos has always been to give a moments relief from everyday drudgery and apathy, and give you something to think about, or at the very least give you something to look at while you're on the loo.

An amazing new exhibition by artist Phlegm "Mausoleum of the Giants" within the old Taylor's Eye Witness Works on Milton Street in Sheffield. 15th March - 6th April 2019

"Imagined as beings whose life spans over thousands of years, these peaceful beasts have seen rivers erode and mountains change. With their final days coming slowly but surely, the giants are ready for their eternal rest, giving everyone enough time to meet them, mourn them and make peace with their ending."
