he foundation stone for the upgradation of the PHC was laid on February 25, 2014 by Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar in the presence of local MLA and Environment Minister Alina Saldanha and others. The project to be built through GSIDC is a two-storeyed building on an area of 2,510 sq mtrs, with a built-up area of 3,849 sq mtrs and it will be built at a cost of Rs 8 crore.
The health centre will have a capacity for 42 beds with facilities for seven OPDs, a mother and child ward, laboratory, operation theatres, NICU, ICU, ultrasound room, X-ray room, pharmacy, etc.
It was expected to be completed within 1 year.
