One-point perspective, a technique in drawing and painting that creates the illusion of depth and three-dimensionality on a two-dimensional surface, has a history rooted in the Italian Renaissance. Filippo Brunelleschi is credited with its development in the early 1400s. This technique, which uses a single vanishing point on the horizon line, allows artists to depict objects receding into the distance and appearing smaller as they move further away.
I personally like to place buildings in context of their surroundings, and when you're in mountainous terrain they always look so tiny and frail. The compressed perspective that a 70-200mm can give adds to the drama.....

Quella che sembra emergere dal sottosuolo, dal traffico della Cristoforo Colombo, con riflessi d’argento nel prato verde dell’aiuola dell’Obelisco dell’Eur è Awakening, Il Risveglio, la suggestiva istallazione di Seward Johnson ospitata a Roma in occasione dei 20 anni della caduta del Muro di Berlino.
I cinque elementi visibili, una mano, la testa, un braccio ( qui nella foto ), una gamba, un piede, nelle intenzioni dello scultore americano rappresentano il risveglio dell’uomo e delle coscienze, la caduta del muro di Berlino che simboleggia l’abbattimento di tutti i muri, una vittoria dell’uomo sulla costrizione del potere e delle sue logiche.
Nelle intenzioni del presidente di Eur SpA Pierluigi Borghini e dell’amministratore delegato Riccardo Mancini, che lo hanno posizionato sotto all’Obelisco nella rotatoria di Piazza Guglielmo Marconi, è il simbolo di un segnale di Risveglio Culturale in un’area così importante per la Città di Roma, una vittoria della necessità di unire anziché dividere. Qualcosa di cui abbiamo bisogno tutti noi, non solo la nostra città.
