I personally don't get to visit my grandma often as she lives in a faraway country. My other grandmother passed away in 2006, though I have vivid memories of visiting her back in 2004. [read more...]

Those who know me personally know that I love loons. They are in fact likely my very favourite bird not only in Canada but likely in the entire world. There are few things that I prefer doing than sitting and watching, listening to, and of course photoraphing these special birds. As such, I couldn't resist posting a loon image for the second straight day! I'll call this one 'mauve reflection'.

I wanted to thank you personally for friendship and fantastic support through these difficult and strange times ...As many of you know this is my second appearance/ account on Flickr and it was not easy to get myself back here again and start from zero😊

It is a very special time of year and I wish all of you Merry Christmas! Stay safe and healthy! Be with your families and beloved ones if it is possible...All the best to you❤

from decorating ! Unfortunately the decorating isn't easy, as the room is difficult, being full of furniture which I can't move easily. So apologies that I'm slow on Flickr and my admin duties so often. Busy altogether, taking our dog out too ... but I have my camera with me on our walks and thought this made a good subject. I've photographed this tree before and thought it was dead, but it isn't !! It's got leaves bursting out again - perfect beautiful Spring !

Thank you so much for your faves, and comments. I can't thank you all personally, for the reasons explained above, but you know you're all so appreciated. Have a wonderful Easter weekend, I hope you all have good weather wherever you are. I am carrying on with the decorating, unfortunately ! But I will be here too !!!

I captured this marvelous bouquet of Turkish delights from the shop window of Hacı Bekir Confectionery in Istanbul. This shop has a long history. Confectioner Bekir Effendi, to be widely known as Hacı Bekir after his pilgrimage to Mecca, moved from Araç, Kastamonu to İstanbul in 1777. He opened a small confectionery shop in Bahçekapı and began to personally produce and sell varieties of candies and “lokum”s (Turkish Delights). Hacı Bekir confections, with their history of four different centuries, appeal to tastes in five continents today.

and I come from a long line of ancestors who liked to be photographed. My Grandfather Fisher liked to be photographed so well that we have one old Fisher family album in which there is nothing but photographs of my grandfather. In not one of them, however, is he shown lying on his back with a dahlia in his mouth :-)

I personally don't like heights, so I don't know how these guys can hang from so very high. I took this while in downtown Vancouver - not sure if they were washing windows or? You may have to zoom in to see the men on the suspended stage and the cool shadow behind them.

With some snow formations you could almost

stand on a knife's edge.

Taken two hours and ten minutes before the previous shot. Further back in my photo stream there are some LE shots taken on the same afternoon once the tide was in and on the turn. There is only one thing you do when faced with an ocean like this and that is stick your camera on a tripod and use a remote release and hang on tight to the tripod then just stand and stare. Even now I remember it vividly because not being primarily a landscape photographer and only getting shots when away on holiday I can truthfully say that I personally have never witnessed anything like this before or since........

Truly unforgettable, even if for many it is not particularly remarkable...

Thank you so much everyone for all your thoughtful, wonderful and kind comments. I cannot convey really how much your support means to me - but please believe it is possibly and most probably more than you will ever know…Sue x

Now away and internet useless….Sue x

I personally like the red effect on the snow here, what was the same in real. As you can see the photo was edited afterwards, too. Makes the effect even stronger what I could see in real with my own eyes already.

Not myself personally.... the caption used, is to describe the subject I was focused on :)

Personally I cherish being by the sea on stormy or hazy days. There is such a wonderful mood and bittersweet melancholy to coastal landscapes immersed in twilight, battered by storms or hiding in fog. To walk along the sea on such days is one of my great delights. To photograph it is an aspiration but also one of the great challenges :)

The name of this picture is no coincidence, because that is Charles Bridge, THE bridge in Prague. It was already built in the 14th century and is one of the oldest stone bridges in Europe. I personally don't know of any bridge that is crossed by so many people every day.

For me it is an integral part of every photo tour I do in this city. More than that, this one perspective below the bridge with a view to the old town is a must for me.

It never gets boring for me and since it only happens once every two or three years I think neither will it for You.

Personally I think, that this is the most beautiful bird of prey. Elegant, intelligent and dangerous. One of them checked our green house last summer, where we stored six border collie puppies.

I read a photography blog a little while back, it in regards to photographers finding their niche, as in what works best for them. It can take a while and I am proof of that, for now two years I've been a hobbyist photographer that will hopefully soon go professional. The niche I have discovered is nature, I want to eventually look toward concept photography but for now, I feel I get a better response here on Flickr and in my own heart so to speak when out in the rural areas, capturing the abundant availability of images that Gaia has to offer.

After all everyone else is doing portraits and it personally bores me, I see people every day and so I long to escape in my own art from such categories. I know, Introvert at your service!

Now to the actual photo, it was another from Shierke where I was spoilt for choice and this Autumnal dying bush plant caught the Sunlight so well I couldn't pass it up. Reducing the background and keeping some of the Autumn oranges and reds I could bring forth the dreary nature of such as is the change in the Seasons.

For all those who follow, fave, comment and so on, as always, thank you so much! :)

Personally, I would rather be looking at the sea - an incredibly beautiful spot on the Oregon Coast.

Red Lily - Santa Gemita - Laowa 65mm - Nov 22 2022 - Enhanced

Led by CMQ 9011 and CP 6258, 250 cruises along the shore of Long Pond at Parlin Stream curve, catching some nice afternoon winter sun. While I personally would have rather had the SD60M leading, I really can't complain about the 9011 leading either, as it's undoubtedly on borrowed time, probably moreso than the 6258 behind it.

As every year, on the third Thursday of November, we celebrate World Philosophy Day. We are few philosophers and not very well known, but our activity of reflection and teaching of this wonderful discipline is increasingly important in these complicated times we live in.

I personally teach philosophy to young people and it is the most exciting activity I have ever done.

Socrates, Aristotle, Descartes, Hume, Kant are the great minds that will help us to understand ourselves. Sapere Aude!

Happy World Philosophy Day

I personally love this time of year in the garden as lots of blue appearing. My ceanothus is just beginning to burst out with it's beautiful blue blooms. So hopefully the garden will be a mass of honey bees also real soon. Hope you are not feeling to blue out there! HSoS

I personally love the dawn atmosphere, for many reasons. The silence, the first light, the soft cold air; and being a sort of introvert, finding myself comfortable with the emptiness and no humans :) Most of all, I'd say everyone should have the experience of dawns sometimes, very charmingly refreshing they are.

So personally I am picky when it comes to finding new skins. Finding fantasy skins is so hard, but finding deep dark drow skins is nearly impossible. Dark fantasy skins sometimes feel like theres little texture and detail due to their dark nature. Well Petrichor has created a new beautifully done drow skin. With different color jewels embedded in the darkness... and the skin is fully BOM. Which to me is super important. So if you are in need of a great fantasy skin stop in at Petrichor and check out the Shadowlaz skin today.

My Blog!

....personally I prefer sitting down in a canoe....kneeling or standing seems to make it more difficult, but I'm sure someone will put me right. Difficult to believe this shot was taken a couple of hours after the last one.

For anyone who reads my posts, yes, I'm sorry, I still have had no time to be around, be online, really be on SL or Flickr at all. I get these rare little pockets of time here and there maybe once every few weeks or a month apart sometimes, but it's pretty impossible to do much at all with that. I promise to all my friends, hang in there, I'll catch up on your photo streams, just give me a few more weeks or probably months, and then I'll be back to the way I was before and go back to catch up on everything I missed!

That's on Flickr of course, second life is a whole other beast ain't it? I logged in the other night to realize that half the people I made friends with the last year, even half the people I worked with, were just gone. Some of them unfriended me, some of them I just couldn't find period, and it makes me sad. A lot of people have the tag in their profiles "Real life first", hell one of the "Friends" who unfriended me has that as the first line in his profile, but the second any of us actually put our "real life first" a horde of people take it personally, and that's something about Second Life I've never quite understood. A lot of people treat their friends list like there's a limit how many they're allowed to have.

So hey, if me getting busy and putting my life first makes anyone not want to know me, that's okay, I'll miss ya, but I would never do that to anyone else who doesn't basically live in the game. I'll always be a tourist.

Today I want to dedicate my work to a true friend and artist, A.R.R.E. - Salvador Concepción who has passed away and who I personally will miss. He was a very talented artist and an inspiration, friend and teacher. You will be sincerely missed my friend, but your art leaves us with joy to look at and the most fantastic memories. Thank you!

I personally like subjects with wings. Examples are aitcrafts, birds and butteflies. Not a perfect unobstructed view but I wanted to try this angle with my average 55-250 mm canon lens. I am loving the output.

I personally think the pigeon is a rather beautiful bird, and when captured in the right setting.... can you disagree?

even better when the sun hits the feathers, a beauty!

Personally, I think Friday is the most beautiful day of the week! :-) Wishing you all a great weekend!!!

personally think this photo is brilliant, as long as I can please me, I am happy

Personally I think this is just outstanding artwork by one very talented artist.

I personally think that a 2.5L engine rolling down the road on two wheels is a bit much but my son thinks differently and the Triumph Rocket is quite an impressive motorcycle and a nice stable mate to his BMW R Nine T. He also thought that I needed to get back into riding so now I have a motorcycle too. A bit smaller, the Street Twin 900 is plenty for me and I've always liked the twin configuration engine layout. The bike is not too heavy and I can keep my two feet on the ground. OK, maybe a bit old school but with plenty of the latest tech features (except maybe cruise control), that's just the way I like it.

Been a bit tied up with researching all the cool motorcycle gear and heading out for rides but I've configured one saddle bag for camera gear so It's all good! And, like photography, the wish like for a motorcycle gets quite long.

RKO_0430. Personally I love the soft tones and how the colors of both eagle and surrounding match.

Thanks a lot for your visit, fave and comments. Its truly appreciated!

Personally I think purple suits her but Cleo prefers yellow, orange or red. Quite surprising that she accepted to pose next to those flowers despite their colour. To be brutally honest, a strategically placed treat did the trick. :)

Not personally, one presumes.

Built on the site of an existing Saxon hall, Corfe Castle was an early stone castle built on a natural mound, starting in the 1080s.The Normans more commonly built wooden castles (Baileys) on man-made mounds (Mottes). Corfe Castle continued in use for centuries, several English Kings residing here for short periods. It was eventually ‘slighted’ ie damaged beyond use in the English Civil War in 1648.

The site had been the scene of the bloody murder of King Edward the Martyr in 978 at the behest of his wicked step-mother, Elfrida. A plaque in the village commemorates the 1000th year since his murder. Personally, I’d rather not be murdered and go without the 1000 year plaque, which, admittedly is a pretty cool thing to have. I mean, how many people get to be commemorated a whole millennium after their death? Not many!

Personally... i love this set:

The usual suspects lined up for a cocktail session…personally, I avoid cocktails like the plague having had my liver and kidneys assaulted by several concoctions many years ago. The ensuing hangover assumed gargantuan proportions with the end result being my mantra of ‘never again’.

"Personally, I've learned about perseverance: when you hear the word 'No,' and when you hear rejection, that it's not always final. And that timing is everything, and you have to stay the course and just keep working hard and know that, when your time comes, that it will be sweet and that it will be the perfect time." - Angela Robinson

Pick your favorite:

Personally, after studying both the mono and color - I finally decided on the color. Believe me, a difficult choice but the golden tones and warmer colors persuaded me.

For me, the mono provided an image of textures, light, contrasts and reflections. It has a cooler look and crisper textural detail, and I tend to favor mono when it there is a fit for it.

You can be your own judge!
