The Peace Line gates between Shankill and The Falls were still open, even though it was the afternoon of the 11th. The first thing that greeted us...after the surveillance cameras, anyway...was a bunch of tires and pallets tossed in the road, some of which had already been stacked up to form the base of a bonfire.
My shot for Peace One Day. OK, I know it's another horse shot but it seemed to fit the concept of helping each other, in this case cleaning each other. The idea of ceasing hostilities for a day to allow aid and medical help to enter areas of conflict I think is well worth supporting.
My late uncle's dog tags, coupled with the peace symbol I was already wearing. Kinda fitting.
