Yet again, another quick shot.

Crush, you should assume by now that I have done, and will continue to do a lot of these "quick" shots. It's just what I do. Most of my 365s will be like this.

But anyway, here's what I'm saying...

All this talk about about Peace, and being "Green" is going on. But who's really doing it? Who's really living that image? I like that I can proudly say the following things truthfully...

1. I walk to work whenever I get the chance (i.e. it's not raining/snowing).

2. I have switched to a line of completely environmentally friendly shampoo/conditioner. Not only is it good for the environment and my hair, it's 100% vegan. Cool. (I'm not vegan, but if I was...)

3. I buy organic when I can. This for me means when it's affordable (I don't make loads of cash and neither does my boyfriend and we have an apartment, a car and a pile of bills to pay for.)

4. We drive an eco-friendly car. Our 2007 Hyundai Accent is great on fuel. (If we could afford a hybrid, we would have one.)

5. We carpool whenever we go out of town with others. Most of the time when we leave town to shop or see a movie, we go with some friends. We all pile into the fewest amount of cars. It's great on to the earth and it's great on everyone's pockets.

6. I recycle! If you don't recycle I have a few words for you...

7. I reuse plastic bags/use reusable canvas totes/stuff my purse to save on using a bag WHENEVER I can.

My list may be small, and I could possibly be doing eco-friendly things and not even know it. But bottom line, I hope everyone does their fair share to help out our environment. It's gonna take ALL of us to make a difference.

PEACE!

Sculpted by T MIlnes c.1870 as part of Sir Titus Salt's model village for his mill workers on the banks of the River Aire outside Bradford. The whole structure is Grade II* listed and the village centre is a World Heritage site.

The real differences around the world today are not between Jews and Arabs; Protestants and Catholics; Muslims, Croats, and Serbs. The real differences are between those who embrace peace and those who would destroy it; between those who look to the future and those who cling to the past; between those who open their arms and those who are determined to clench their fists. ~William J. Clinton, 1997

Milton Keynes Peace Pagoda occupies a pleasant hilly corner of Willen Park. The Pagoda itself is perhaps 500 metres over a hill from a Temple where a small number of resident monastics of Nipponzan Myohoji live, practice and work.

The main practice of the monks and nuns of the Nipponzan Myohoji revolves around walking and chanting "Namu Myo Ho Ren Ge Kyo" while beating their drum as a call for world peace.

The Nipponzan Myohoji is widely known for their construction of Peace Pagodas throughout the world. The pagodas are offerings for world peace, and considered as "a prayer of the spirit made manifest in material form . . . offered to the world as a symbol of global peace”.
