Pierce County Sheriff's Department, Tacoma, Washington photos. This unit was surrounded by Pierce County Sheriff vehicles. I am not 100% sure this is a PCSO unit. Check out the new homepage for the AJM STUDIOS Northwest Police Department! The old homepage is here. It does not get updated as often as the first link. 2010.

Use theSPI-V 360 viewer to play this amazing new game! Visit Leeds without leaving the comfort of your armchair! Mix it with the crowds without having to leave your own house! See real ghosts walk the streets of Leeds! etc, etc. :) Or View On Black(a good option if the viewer isn't working) And if you want it really big, then make it large.

Great fun to do and thanks to Chris for riding shotgun and keeping the hoards of PCSOs at bay :)

update: there seems to be a bit of a problem with the viewer right now, it's saying a few of the images are unavailable. Not sure what's happened there.

Chepstow Racecourse Wyedean Rally

The origin of the term is ambiguous, but one holding is that it came from the "beaten path" of a foot patrolman's route around his assigned area. Constables were sometimes required to stick to a particular never-ending route to ensure all of their areas were adequately patrolled.

What does a PCSO do? PCSOs are highly visible and act as a vital link between the public, police, and partners. They carry out patrols, deal with anti-social behaviour, gather intelligence, and resolve community issues. They work closely with local authorities, businesses, and Neighbourhood Watch.

Their purpose is not to replace police officers, but to support them in addressing quality of life issues and community needs. They are a vital addition to the policing family, and will address tasks that don't require the powers of arrest a police officer has.

'Twas Barwell Carnival today. There are three main things that happen on carnival day.

1) The locals put down their guns for a few hours, stop killing each other and generally celebrate life in Barwell

2) The police block my road off so the procession can pass, meaning I can't get in or out of the local area.

3) I get to go out and take candid street photos.

This is a candid of a PCSO guarding the route of the carnival. Was he looking out for drug dealers, knife wielding maniacs, domestic abusers... or was he hunting the most dangerous of all - 'The Photographer'. Either way, he's making the streets safe for all of us :)

The design history of the OH-58A Kiowa begins in 1961 with Bell’s submission for an Army request for a new light scout helicopter. Bell’s design did not win that contract which went to the Hughes OH-6. Bell designers felt that the basic idea for the helicopter was sound and that it could be adapted for civilian use. The redesign needed resulted in a five passenger, turbine-powered aircraft designated the Model 206A and called the Jet Ranger. Flight testing began in late 1965 and deliveries of production machines began in 1967. By the end of 1968, over 300 had been built. The success of the Jet Ranger and the rising cost of the OH-6 led the U.S. Army to order more than 2,000 Jet Rangers in 1968. Re-designated as the OH-58A, the helicopters served extensively in Vietnam. The Jet Ranger and its military variants are some of the most popular helicopters ever produced. This 1971 version is currently owned and used by the Putnam County Sheriff's Department out of Cookeville, Tennessee.
