Ancient Architectural Complex on Wudang Mountain
Situated in Hubei Province, Wudang Mountain is a famous mountain sacred to Taoism and birthplace of the art of Wudang Boxing. The scenery here is very beautiful. A lot of marks of long history and rich culture of the mountain can be found on the mountain, while the Taoist architectural complex, mostly built in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), was inscribed on the World Heritage List. The main tourist spot are Xuanyue Gate, Yuanhe Taoist Temple, Yuzhen Palace, Zixiao Palace and Golden Hall.
The view from my hostel room (room 105, The New Excelsior) looking towards what I now know to be SoL Square and the yellow cross is a sign for the Yellow Cross bar (a rather fine imbibing establishment, I think you'll find).
To the left, about 100 yards down the road is a spiffing Thai restaurant.
SoL is an acronym for 'South of Lichfield', or so I am led to believe.
Action during the race where two teams of 5 dogs each try to complete the course in the quickest time.
