As always, with autumn approaching people in rural Bosnia are getting ready for the winter. This means stocking on large amounts of firewood. The bigger the chunks, the cheaper it is.

This was taken in March on Glassilaun Beach near Clifden in Co. Galway. I was struck by the fantastic patterns in the sand, which so closely resembled trees it was quite amazing.
This is a photo of patterns in the coastal bedrock near Clam Harbour Beach. The scrapes were made by the movement of glaciers 10,000 years ago.
Woke up to a white world with closed roads. We had an unusual 8-10 inches of snow in Alabama. A February record.

After about an 7 mile walk, and about 400-500 meters of elevation I found a nice frozen puddle with a rock in it.
