La meteoropatia, dal greco μετέωρον (meteoron, cosa che è, che avviene in alto) e πάθος (pathos, passione, malattia), è un termine che sta ad indicare un insieme di disturbi psichici e fisici di tipo neurovegetativo che si verificano in determinate condizioni e variazioni del tempo meteorologico o delle condizioni climatiche stagionali.

This image is from a wooden carved Christ figure on the Crucifix which stands on the altar in the side chapel at Arlington Church, East Sussex, UK. The carved figure is quite small, no more than seven inches or so, on the cross. I am not sure what the wood is that the figure is carved from, perhaps pine, or elm? Or who carved it.
The figure of Christ is carved with such love and pathos, as if He has just passed away…or still asleep with exhaustion, but beginning to drift to another shore.

Eine Frau, der ich nur meine Liebe schenken kann... Ich weiß, wie es ganz unten ist. Darum komme ich mit dem Mittelmaß ganz gut klar. Und die Pillen, die ich nehmen muss, nehme ich nicht zum Spaß. Pathos? Nein, ich bin einfach nur froh, dass ich so halbwegs klarkomme... Ich habe hier an diesem Ort keine Angst. Angst empfinde ich manchmal unter Menschen. Weil ich lethargisch werde, wenn ich den Gesprächen nicht mehr folgen kann. Ich werde wohl nie erwachsen... “Eros e pathos, margini dell'amore e della sofferenza” il titolo di un bellissimo libro di Aldo Carotenuto che racconta e illumina il vasto mondo dei sentimenti.
Roma trabocca di eros e di pathos.
L'eros che la pervade è composto da un misto di stili che narrano la trasformazione della città dall'anno di fondazione a oggi, dalle opere degli artisti che si sono avvicendati nel corso dei secoli, dalle fontane che scrosciano, dagli umori mutevoli delle sue strade invase dalle automobili, dalle scritte sui muri e sui monumenti sepolcrali.
Roma è città di memorie, la dea Mnemosine, madre delle Muse, si nasconde in ogni angolo e sussurra al visitatore distratto di fermarsi un attimo a leggere ciò che è scritto sulle sue pietre. Come in uno struggente Spoon River dell'antichità, le toccanti iscrizioni funerarie raccontano il dolore e la perdita: genitori che della figlia “dulcissima” scrivono “visse la metà di un anno e otto giorni, come una rosa fiorì e immediatamente appassì” o quelli che piangono la morte di un ragazzo che “visse dodici anni, nove mesi, tredici giorni, otto ore”, dove il conteggio perfino delle ore indica la forza dell'attaccamento al figlio che “sapeva fabbricare gioielli con abile mano” e che “la sua morte ha abbandonato i genitori a un dolore senza fine”.
Gli antichi abitanti e fondatori di Roma seppero cogliere dagli altri popoli, i Greci in particolare, sublimi insegnamenti, le credenze religiose furono rielaborate e aggiornate man mano che ne venivano a conoscenza, così come furono in grado di fare copie meravigliose di statue che avevano visto e ammirato in Grecia, in Egitto, nel Vicino Oriente. I giovani di famiglie benestanti andavano a studiare in Grecia. Lungimiranza e intelligenza permise ai Romani di creare opere architettoniche che resistono all'assalto del tempo; geniali ingegneri, sommi pensatori, grandi poeti che hanno lasciato eredità immortali, basta leggere i versi di Virgilio, di Ovidio, di Lucrezio, le opere degli imperatori e dei filosofi per restare sbigottiti da tanta sapienza dell'arte di vivere; il diritto romano è ancora il fondamento delle nostre leggi. Roma fu anche crudele, certo, e non abbiamo parole per giustificarla, dovremmo proiettarci indietro nel tempo per cercare di capire la loro indole, l'eredità che però ci hanno lasciato è potente. Entrare nel Museo Nazionale e trovarsi al cospetto del pugile di bronzo insanguinato e affranto dalla fatica, scendere poi nei piani inferiori e trovare le bambole snodabili di osso destinate alle bambine e sepolte con la loro piccola proprietaria è un'esperienza indicibile.
Il pathos si insinua tra bellezze archeologiche, rifiuti, sirene con il loro fischio lacerante, giovani barboni che dormono nei sottopassaggi dei treni abbandonati al sonno e alla non conoscenza di sé; un misto di bellezza e disordine: strutture di opere in corso, rovine antiche, palazzi color pastello, marmi consumati, bancarelle piene di stracci che fanno pensare alla famosa “Venere degli stracci” opera del 1967 di Michelangelo Pistoletto, triste anticipatrice della condizione attuale delle strade romane invase da mercatini di logori abiti usati, oggetti fatti in serie di pessima qualità mentre buste di plastica volano in alto trasportate da un vento che non ha più il nome di Zefiro, il vento che trasporta Psiche nel palazzo incantato di Amore nello stupendo racconto di Apuleio.
Eros, oggi è costretto, suo malgrado, a convivere con “quisquiliam”, l'immondizia. Ma basta avvicinarsi all'arco di Costantino, magari a bordo di un autobus pieno di passeggeri sudati e accaldati, per sentire la potenza e la presenza di una memoria artistica e profondamente umana. Poco più in là il Colosseo col suo pesante ricordo di violenza e di dolore, di magnificenza, di forza, di genio costruttivo, dove file e file di persone da tutto il mondo attendono di entrare nella macchina del tempo che questo monumento rappresenta. Accanto al Colosseo, su un rialzo del terreno, ai margini dell'ingresso dei Fori Imperiali, si erge il magnifico tempio di Venere e Roma, memoria pietrificata della religione romana che in ogni più piccola manifestazione della natura intuiva la presenza invisibile di una divinità.
Mentre aspettavo l'autobus ai piedi del Campidoglio, dopo essere stata nei Musei Capitolini per fotografare l'Eros che incorda l'arco, ai margini del marciapiede ecco apparire una fioritura di acanto nel pieno rigoglio. Dalle sue foglie gli scultori antichi ricavarono il disegno per decorare i capitelli corinzi; un fiore che continua a morire e a rinascere ogni anno con incredibile persistenza, grazie alla forza indomabile di Eros che permea tutta l'esistenza.

Ich mag Rem Koohlhaas
Ein Artikel der mich faszinierte
Rem Koolhaas baut am Rand von Mailand eine kleine Stadt. Für die Fondazione Prada sprengt der Architekt die Grenzen zwischen Vergangenheit und Gegenwart. Und er denkt dabei auch an die Bauarbeiter.
Ein Turm aus Gold mitten im Industriegebiet – Mailand ist die einzige Stadt in Europa, wo einen dieser Anblick nicht wirklich überrascht. Vielleicht wird ja hier von der Modebranche gerade tonnenweise Goldschmuck geschmiedet oder Brokat gewebt oder Mobiliar aus Edelmetall entworfen. So ähnlich ist es dann auch, aber zugleich ganz anders: Rem Koolhaas baut für die Fondazione Prada in der ganz unluxuriösen Peripherie der Luxusmetropole ein Kulturzentrum mit Bibliothek, mit Kino, mit Café, mit gleich diversen Museen. Man könnte auch sagen: Koolhaas, der in der ganzen Welt aus Einzelbauten urbanistische Projekte gemacht hat, baut in Mailand eine kleine Stadt in der großen Stadt. Und eine Stadt braucht nun mal einen Turm, zur Not aus Gold.
„Ich liebe Mailand!“ Solch ein romantisches Statement vom personifizierten Unromantiker Rem Koolhaas ist zugeschnitten auf den Aussichtsbalkon seiner neuen Pradasiedlung: Rundum Industriebrachen, mit frischem Birkengrün zugewucherte Eisenbahngleise, Wohnblocks, Parkplätze und erst ganz in der Ferne die mittelgroßen Hochhäuser der Banken und der Macht hinterm Mailänder Dom. Klar, dass ein Idyllenverächter wie Koolhaas dieses ungeordnete, stilistisch unsaubere Ambiente förmlich umarmt. Doch dann die Überraschung: Aus seinen Patchworkbauten in einer aufgegebenen Schnapsdestillerie von 1907 ist fast so etwas geworden wie ein städtisches Idyll.
Dass in neun Monaten das Mailänder Projekt abgeschlossen ist, findet er fast schade. Man kann, so sagt er, die Seitengebäude aber jederzeit als Module nutzen und umwidmen: Von der Bibliothek zum Kindergarten, von Büros zu Wohneinheiten. „Permeables Bauen“ nennt er seine neue Sanftheit, die keineswegs auf Denkmalschutzauflagen zurückzuführen ist, sondern eher auf Altersmilde. Sein Büro OMA habe hier nach Belieben abreißen und bauen können, nur die neuen Erdbebenvorgaben schrieben Fundamente bis in vier Meter Tiefe vor, damit im statistisch unwahrscheinlichen Fall des „terremoto“ die Betondecken nicht über der Prada-Kunstsammlung zusammenbrechen.
Es ist, als hätte das historische Geflecht von Baustilen, als hätten die archäologischen Schichten im allzeit überbauten Römerland den einstigen Tabula-rasa-Theoretiker Koolhaas postmodern infiziert: Außer dem güldenen Turm gibt es in der Fondazione Prada unzählige Anspielungen und Verweise: Renaissancehafte Fensterbögen in den Aluminiumskeletten. Venezianisch spiegelnde Stahlplatten aus dem Schiffbau, mit welchen die Außenwände des Auditoriums sich mal eben keck aufklappen lassen.

Klassizistische Edelböden aus iranischem Travertin, die prima mit dem starren Aluminiumschaum der Decken und Außenwände koexistieren. Und trotzdem gibt es ein paar Schritte neben der Begrünung viereckige Betonsäle und klotzige Auditorien von bestechend brutaler Eleganz. Der einst für seine historistischen Spielchen so bitter angefeindete James Stirling hätte am Mailänder Komplex, den Koolhaas gerne „Campus“ nennt, wohl seine helle Freude gehabt.
Vielleicht aber war der alte Gegensatz zwischen Postmoderne und Moderne ja auch nur ein Missverständnis. Ob eine Altstadt nun gerettet wird, indem man sie wie bei Koolhaas’ Masterplan in Den Haag mit hohen Monoliten umbaut? Oder indem man die Baulücken mit ziseliertem Beton füllt? Am Ende geht wohl beides, und beides – Neubau im Geist moderner Radikalität wie zärtliches Restaurieren – führt der Meister in Mailand vor. Vielleicht hat diese Besinnung auch damit zu tun, dass zuletzt gleich mehrere urbane Masterpläne in den Niederlanden nach Bürgerbefragungen nicht zur Ausführung kamen. Nun zeigt der Meister, dass er auch kleinteilig und sensibel kann. Statt des Baggers rücken die Vergolder an.
Immun gegen Gentrifizierung
Passend zur doppelten Aufgabenstellung zwischen Industrie und Kunst ist die Eröffnungsschau eine historisierende. Der große Antikenkenner Salvatore Settis postiert auf die Travertinpodeste von Koolhaas eine exquisite Auswahl von Götter- und Athletenstatuen, wobei es bewusst verwirrend bleibt, welche griechischen Originale in welcher römischen Epoche wie zitiert und kopiert wurden. Es ist auf diesem Gelände wie bei einer russischen Puppe: Renaissance in der Renaissance in der Renaissance.

Am Ende holt in Italien die Historie alle ein und ummantelt sie gnädig. Diesem Gesetz hat sich auch Rem Koolhaas listig und lustvoll gefügt, hat klassische Treppenhäuser mit Neonlichtgeländern ausgestattet, hat Eingänge mit hergebrachtem Industrietrampelbohlen ausgelegt und die Zwischenräume seiner sozialen Architektur sanft bepflanzt und bis in die Nacht für die Anwohner geöffnet. „Und das Schönste ist“, sagt er auf der Dachterrasse versonnen, „dieses Viertel ist viel zu hart, zu disparat und zu einfach. Das ist gegen Gentrifizierung immun.“

Ein neues Luxusmodeviertel mit Bars und Discos und schicken Cafés zum Gesehenwerden hatte Koolhaas gerade nicht im Sinn; so was gibt es rund um die Brera und die Via Montenapoleone und die Flagshipstores der Armanis und Guccis eh schon zur Genüge. Hier draußen sollte eine kleine, feine Fabrik des Städtebaus entstehen, in die Wes Andersons bestürzend gemütliches Café im Stile von Mailänder Arbeiterkneipen der Vorkriegszeit bestens passt: ein alteuropäisches Caffè Milano im Geist von Grand Hotel Budapest. Hier sollen auch die Rentner, die Migranten, die Bauarbeiter von jenseits des Bahndamms ihren Espresso schlürfen, von der Parkbank aus antike Statuen durchs Fenster bestaunen, ihre Kinder in die Bibliothek begleiten oder einfach nur Luft schnappen.
In der Bauarbeiterbar ein paar Meter entlang der Fabrikmauern – am Nebentisch trinkt Miuccia Prada auf dem Plastikhocker ihren Espresso – bekennt sich Koolhaas zum architektonischen Pathos seiner Anfänge: „Da bin ich unverbesserlich links.“ In Zeiten, in denen Staaten kein Geld für Flüchtlingsunterkünfte und Kindergärten mehr haben, schwärmt Koolhaas von Büchereien, Theatern, Schulen und der Würde des sozialen Bauens.
Billiger bauen mit Gold
Doch immerhin: Wenn die Stadt Mailand trotz großer Wohnungsnot keinerlei Verwendung fürs Expogelände hat, wenn Bauen ohne Korruption in Italien zur großen Ausnahme wird – hier hat ein sturer Siebzigjähriger seinen Kinderspielplatz in die vernachlässigte Vorstadt gesetzt. „Playground of ideas“ – das sei Architektur heute mehr denn je: ein Spielen mit den Erwartungen, ein Erhalten des Kaputten und manchmal auch ein großer Witz: „Humor ist immer mehr die treibende Kraft.“
Und so sind die 19.000 Quadratmeter Ausstellungsfläche mit dem ganzen sozialen Drumherum – mit Museen, Bibliothek, Kino, Konzertsaal, einer Sommerschule für Filmregisseure und Wissenschaftler – zwar ironisch und geistreich, aber alles andere als ein selbstreferentieller Witz. „Wir wollen hier Nachbarschaft schaffen“, sagt Koolhaas und wirkt wieder so ernst und stur und niederländisch geradeaus, wie man ihn und sein Bauen kennt.

There is a moment, as the light fades away, when day is over and night not yet begun. L'antipatia è una forma più o meno intensa di avversione contro cose e/o persone, è il contrario della simpatia.
Etimologia. Il termine antipatia deriva dal latino antipathia e dal greco pathos ("passione contro qualcuno").
Le cause possibili
L'antipatia può nascere da cause interne all'individuo o esterne, può essere individuale o collettiva, può risultare momentanea o duratura.
Uno dei fondamenti della psicologia sociale è costituito dal concetto di atteggiamento, che si riferisce all'insieme di predisposizioni, sentimenti, opinioni e informazioni sulle persone e sulle cose che gli individui incontrano sul loro cammino quotidiano. In effetti, un modello proposto da vari ricercatori, tra i quali Theodore Isaac Rubin, definisce un atteggiamento come il raggruppamento di una componente cognitiva, di una affettiva e infine da una conativa (le intenzioni nei confronti dell'oggetto).
L'antipatia si evidenzia, non solo con l'uso di gesti o di linguaggi platealmente offensivi, ma anche attraverso i comportamenti non verbali, come gli sguardi, l'orientamento del corpo e così via e viene prodotta, spesso da fattori superficiali, come abbigliamento, gestualità, difetti fisici, maniere personali che evidentemente colpiscono negativamente l'individuo, ma anche da macro fattori come lo stile di vita, le pratiche religiose, le scelte politiche, il tipo di alimentazione.
È possibile che si provi antipatia verso qualcuno o qualcosa ritenuto portatore di esperienze negative o comunque che in passato non ci abbia fornito ricompense o rinforzi positivi, oltre alle persone che non elaborano idee e pensieri come i nostri e attuano comportamenti diversi
Possono risultare antipatici gli individui per alcune caratteristiche come la scarsa amichevolezza, quelli che si confidano troppo poco, ma anche quelli che si confidano eccessivamente.
Alcuni studi confermano che maggiore è la distanza fisica fra due persone o maggiore è il grado di cattiva e scarsa informazione o popolarità su qualcuno o qualcosa, maggiore è la probabilità di provare avversione.
È più facile provare antipatia nei confronti di qualcuno o qualcosa, se il luogo d'incontro è stato tutt'altro che piacevole (ad esempio rumoroso o insidioso).

The theatre filled with people and the lights dimmed, then Adam told me that he has PTSD. He said that he’d served in the Viet Nam War and cannot cope with stressful situations, crowds, threatening encounters, loud noises and especially fireworks. I’ve yet to meet a Viet Nam vet who was not damaged in some way, and this was not the time for a deep and meaningful.
The show got under way and was a brilliant performance of song, dance, mime, comedy and superb music. The folk show was a triumph of entertainment; by far one of the best live shows I’ve ever seen. Such a shame there was a parallel show of drama and pathos playing out next to me at the same time.

'In Search of Lost Time'
A few stores along that side of the street
Sit empty and forgotten
Like the occasional refuse carelessly tossed
On cobbled streets.
Old windows reflect the busyness
And hum of street noise.
The old man paused at 37B during his morning shuffle
Peering through the dirty glass,
Hunched slightly forward,
Hands tightly clasped behind him in
Some personal pathos.
He waited until she took form again,
Her small oval face partly obscured
By time and rebellious curls,
Her flashing dark eyes, captivation.
Why had he never dared to draw up his breath,
March into the tinker’s shop and ask
Her to tea!
Had she ever known he was there?
There was such promise!
But the war.
Carried her away like it did his youth
That ebbed away on the front lines.
He returned like so many did,
A shell.
He forgot to demand of life
What it could still proffer,
Trying to forget
The roar, clamour and blood
And the last sighs of fallen friends.
He didn’t look for her again
Until the loneliness
Outweighed the din of past battles
And there,
He found her again
Past the reflections
Of old glass and shadows.

We have had a major bout of freezing rain during the night, about 5mm of photogenic - but very dangerous - ice on everything ... cross your fingers for us that our power lines don't come down.
