I haven't done much in the way of landscape photography over the past few weeks so I decided that I would head down to the beach for sunset last night. There was some really nice light and some fantastic high clouds when I arrived which made this composition a very easy choice.

A very brief visit to Parton Beach on Tuesday evening while my son was at football training. I made it to the shore just as the sun dipped below the horizon but managed a few shots as the sky started to darken.

Parton is a small town on the Cumbrian coast in North England. The distant mountains are in Dumfries and Galloway across the border in Scotland. The highest prominence on the right is Criffel.
well having been rather upset with myself for missing the sunrise on saturday morning i thought id try my luck at parton and try and ease the frustration of missing an opportunity. i managed to come away with a couple of shots looking towards whitehaven with some fantastic colours bouncing off the clouds.
thanks for looking.
A west Cumbrian summer shot again this time in mono from last year. I have often felt this rock should be in some shots but rarely had the right conditions. This was a cold windy summer night.

Some nice colour in the sky this evening down at Parton. Unfortunately I missed the best of it as I fell off these rocks shortly after I took this, and spent a good while cleaning water off my filters. Thankfully I had my camera bag on my back which took the impact when I fell, If I hadn't it could have been nasty!

Last night looked quite promising for a nice sunset so I decided to have a wander down to Parton shore to see if I could grab a few shots. Sunset itself wasn't anything special in the end but there was some nice light which, combined with the perfect tide height, made for a few opportunities. The only problem was that I had left my filter adapter rings in my other bag so I had to hand hold the filters on the lens. Fortunately I did manage to get a couple of sharp images although around 75% were no good.
