Another image from our 2004 trip around Australia, this was taken at a secluded little beach called Whaling Cove, very near Albany in Western Australia. It was so nice here, that we returned many times during our short stay. The sand was pure white and even creaked like snow when you walked on it. The little beach was surrounded on each side with smooth granite outcrops and you had to be careful because as the waves rolled in over the smooth granite, they barely made a sound (as I soon found out while taking this). The sneakers got soaked more than once as the waves crept quietly in!

Warm water, clear skies and plenty of sunshine - it must be paradise, thought little Rose.

Miss Continent 2023: Russian Federation.

I would like to express my gratitude for the opportunity given to me for the first time in the history of the Miss Continent pageant to represent not Russia, but the Russian Federation, the largest country on the earth that has territories both in Europe and Asia and represent and speak on behalf of the 190 nationalities that make up this vast country.

In my journey in Miss Continent, I intend to show you unknown regions and styles that will not always be Russian stereotypes, but they are included in the great heritage of the "Russian world" as national treasures.

For today’s presentation on the theme "Tropical Forest Paradise," Tara took inspiration from nature around the Black Sea areas.

According to historians, there are no natural tropical forests within the Russian Federation. But, in the southernmost climatic zone are the subtropics, on the Black Sea coast around the Caucasus that hold something different, awaiting you.

The tropical forest is like a precious treasure of oxygen along with many colorful jewels in emerald, citrine and rubies.. all bright and rich colors you can ever imagine. Full of millions of wonderful bird songs and the warmth of sun rays. Sometimes, when rains come, the water drops make Life wake under the hot sun.

One from the past when storm clouds raced and the sun laced the edges silver. Paradise Lost is by Half Man Half Biscuit.

Indian paradise flycatchers (Terpsiphone paradisi) are noisy birds uttering sharp skreek calls. They have short legs and sit very upright whilst perched prominently, like a shrike. They are insectivorous and hunt in flight in the understorey. In the afternoons they dive from perches to bath in small pools of water.

My short film premiered last night at the Toronto Short Film Festival at the Paradise Theatre. L-R: actor Celestine Caravaggio, actor Heather Anne Fee, writer Garner Haines, director Diane Carol Harder

The Amur paradise flycatcher (Terpsiphone incei) is a bird species in the family Monarchidae. It is native to China, Manchuria and Primorsky Krai in the Russian Far East. It is a winter migrant to Southeast Asia. Until 2015, it was considered as a subspecies of the Asian paradise flycatcher.[2]

After about a mile hike you will be greeted by the sight and sound of this secluded waterfall. This 45 ft cascade is nestled in the woods in North Adams Massachusetts.

One of Worm's Head and the cliffs at Rhossili through my little orb. So captioned because many moons ago me and mine named this part of Gower that we love so much as 'Planet Paradise'.

ON MY EARLY MORNING WALK THIS MORNING I SPOTTED THIS PLANT IN THE DISTRICT OF HUERTA DEL PILAR, SEVILLA. CALLED, IN ENGLISH, "BIRD OF PARADISE", FOR ITS SIMILARITY: ALSO CALLED STRELITZIA.

As John Milton in says in Paradise Lost

“A mind not to be changed by place or time.

The mind is its own place, and in itself

Can make a heav'n of hell, a hell of heav'n.”

What are we making of Australia?

Today's cold and wet weather was good for visiting Tower Hill Botanical Garden, where there are two large orangeries. There are several bird of paradise plants. The blossoms there are doing better than the ones I bought in a store, which never opened.
