Sometimes when you travel around the coast of the UK, you can be absolutely blown away by the stunning natural beauty. I am currently on a quest to make my way around the coast of the UK little bit by little bit while still visiting in land locations too.

Took this shot about 25 miles north of Winnemucca Nevada off US-95. Paradise Summit is approximately 5300' above sea level.

"When she was just a girl

She expected the world

But it flew away from her reach so

She ran away in her sleep

And dreamed of

Para-para-paradise, Para-para-paradise, Para-para-paradise

Every time she closed her eyes"

Paradise - Coldplay.♥

Paradise Square looked beautiful this morning bathed in sunshine.

Cheeseburger in paradise

Medium-rare with mustard'd be nice

Heaven on Earth with an onion slice

I'm just a cheeseburger in paradise

I like mine with lettuce and tomato

Heinz 57 and french fried potatoes

Big kosher pickle and a cold draft beer

Well, good God almighty which way do I steer

For my

Cheeseburger in paradise

Outdoor dining setup created for one of my homes

Spent 6 days in Alaska in 2011 and only one day was a sunny day. Still it was that beautiful even when it wasn't at its best.

Paradise in black and white processed with Silver Efex Pro2

Common name: Bird of paradise.

Botanical name: Strelitzia reginae.

Family: Strelitziaceae.

Taken at Kirstenbosch Gardens, Cape Town, South Africa.

Malus prunifolia is a species of crabapple tree known by the common names plumleaf crab apple, plum-leaved apple, pear-leaf crabapple, Chinese apple and Chinese crabapple. It is native to China, and is grown elsewhere for use as an ornamental tree or as rootstock. It reaches from between 3 and 8 meters tall and bears white flowers and yellow or red fruit.

In the stunning Butchart Gardens, near Victoria, British Columbia.

The Gardens are over 100 years old and occupy 22 hectares (55 acres). Originally a limestone quarry that supplied a local cement works, the owners (Butchart family) decided to beautify the worked-out area. Designated a National Historic Site of Canada, almost one million people visit it annually.

While not surprised, I was saddened last week when it was announced that the BNSF would acquire the Montana Rail Link (MRL). I made a few trips to visit the railroad, usually with Mike Danneman, and quickly became a fan. The big attractions were vintage locomotives, friendly employees and superb scenery.

Eden is a British reality TV series; the first series was broadcast on Channel 4 from 18 July to 8 August 2016. It featured 23 participants living for a year in a remote part of Scotland, attempting to build a self-sufficient community. Filmed by the participants themselves, production began in March 2016. Unknown to the participants, broadcasting ceased after four episodes due to poor viewer ratings. However, the final 5 episodes were broadcast in August 2017 as Eden: Paradise Lost.

This is Singing Sands beach, where the Eden programme was made. A battle for survival for a year. I lasted a few hours on a very wet day last winter before I called the CoastGuard to help me get out. I'm glad to hear the fit young things in the programme say what a work out it was to even get there.

The Bird of Paradise is originally from South Africa. It was named the Bird of Paradise because of its resemblance to a colorful bird in flight.

We used a spray bottle to cover this flower in water droplets. Ambient light was used with a .5 sec shutter speed. The creamy bokeh in the background was caused by sunlight peaking through a large Oleander bush that was behind the Bird of Paradise.

Bird of Paradise flower, one of several in a large bouquet where we stayed in Akumal Mexico. Although I took several photos of this flower, this macro, which is quite abstracted, drew me in.
