On my palette today, I was left with this residue of paint. At first I was thrilled by the colours, but then I discovered a galloping animal. A bull, or what do you see?
Such a perfectly named feature, the variety of colors in these eroded hills in Death Valley come from volcanic deposits of iron oxides and chlorite.
Many thanks for your visits, faves and comments. Cheers.
The National Museum of Australia was designed by architects Ashton Raggatt McDougall and Robert Peck von Hartel Trethowan and sits on an 11 hectare site in Australia's national capital Canberra on the Acton Peninsula, edging Lake Burley Griffin.
The building itself, which houses 6600 square metres of exhibition space, is composed of several individual spaces pieced together like a jigsaw puzzle, forming a semicircle around the Garden of Australian Dreams.
Colour is used extensively, outside and inside. The exterior is a vibrant palette of crimson, orange, bronze, gold, black and brushed silver.

A closer view in Manarola, one of Cinque Terre’s charming villages in Italy, where pastel-hued houses climb the lush terraced hillsides, blending perfectly with the green landscape and Mediterranean skies.

Last one from Holkham the other night (probably), last light before the sun dipped behind a bank of clouds.

The coming of autumn can be seen on the main tree next to the well in front of the main hall. It is called "Tree of Flowers"「花の木」. It is also referred to as "Flower maple" and only 500 trees of its kind in Japan. It is designated as a natural monument. The autumn leaves turn red from the top of the tree down. There is a period from early November to mid-November when the top of the tree is red, the middle is yellow and the bottom is green. (Source:
The edge of Palette Springs that broke off a few years ago. Water flows from springs above and down a steep ridge, creating a colorful hillside palette of brown, green, and orange (the colors are due to the presence of different heat-tolerant bacteria). This effect is much the same as an artist would achieve by allowing wet paint to run down a vertical surface.

Looking at the color palette of the sky, I know that mother nature is a true artist who can conjure up incomparable color.
……No shortage of colour here on the Parrog, low tide so all the boats are grounded, but at least it is the perfect time to wander amongst them. The River Nevern provides a channel through to the sea so once they float they are off… Alan:-)…….

Lower Antelope Canyon is a maze of abstract shapes carved from sandstone by wind and water. From above, the slot canyon looks like any other stretch of Arizona desert. But descending into this canyon, you feel as if you've stepped into some elaborate art installation. (source: LA Times)

Mi piaceva pensare a questa fila di alberi come una tavolozza di colori scelti dall'autunno

I developed a found film, Jessop R21 ISO-200 film, format 120, black&white. I artificially coloured the picture with Palette, an on-line image-colouring tool. I like the result.....
Developer used was Diafine 3+3, 20C.
From the other negatives that came out I deduce that the film must be shot in the UK, somewhere around the years '90 of the past century. The interior here looks much older; it looks almost pre-WW2. But my guess is the picture shows a visit to grandparents who left the old interior untouched for years……
Artist Drive, Death Valley, California
Looking across an arroyo to the colorful rocks on the other side that form Artist's Palette. The original minerals come from volcanic ash that fell or were washed into a saline lake several tens of millions of year ago. After being buried, these rocks were eventually pushed up as part of the Black Mountains during the formation of Death Valley and exposed by erosion.
