This Black Crowned Night Heron was reaching for food in a large tree. Black-crowned night herons nest colonially, and often more than a dozen pairs will nest in one tree. There is a small island in the middle of this small lagoon at the Palace of Fine Arts and it was full of Herons, but this one wanted some alone time. Black-crowned Night-herons are gregarious at all times of the year, and are often seen in very large groups.

Gyeongbokgung Palace in northern Seoul is the largest of five royal palaces in the city. It served as the home of the royal family and the seat of government. It was first built in 1395, but largely destroyed in a Japanese invasion in the 1590s. Rebuilt, it was again intentionally and extensively damaged by Japanese occupation forces in the early 20th Century. Efforts are under way to fully restore the complex. At its height, Gyeongbokgung had some 7700 rooms.

I looked for the King to tell him that there needed to be many more public toilets in London, but I couldn't find him. It is certain that it is very easy and accepted to enter a pub, just to use the toilets.

Caesars Palace construction began in 1966. It was instrumental in establishing the era of lavish casinos. It has over 4,000 rooms and is renowned for creating a Greco-Roman fantasyland featuring reproductions of classical statuary. The goal was to create an atmosphere in which everyone staying at the hotel would feel like a Caesar. Since we didn't stay there I can't assess as to whether this goal has been achieved!

The walls surrounding the Kyoto Imperial Palace in Kyoto, Japan. The palace was the residence of the Emperor until 1868, when the capital was moved from Kyoto to Tokyo.

Built in 1865, the Palace complex consists of 49 buildings in the traditional architectural style of Kerala, sprawled over 52 acres of beautifully landscaped terraced land which houses a deer park and facilities for horse riding. Numerous species of flora including rare medicinal plants grow here. In the Ethno - Archaeological Museum are oil-paintings, murals, sculptures in stone and manuscripts, inscriptions, coins, belongings of the Kochi royal family and royal furniture including the simhasana (throne).
Also exhibited are over 200 antique pieces of pottery and ceramic vases from Japan and China. Kudakkallu (tomb stone), Thoppikkallu (hood stone), menhirs, granite, laterite memorials, rock cut weapons from the stone ages, wooden temple models, plaster cast models of objects from Mohanjadaro and Harappa of the Indus Valley Civilisation. The museum also houses a gallery of contemporary art.
