Ejemplar macho con plumaje en eclipse(no puede volar hasta que termine de renovar el plumaje), por el tamaño creo que un adulto. Dicho plumaje es similar al de la hembra pero con flancos y vientre más rojizos, cabeza más oscura y conserva el azul pálido de la parte superior del ala anterior, como se puede apreciar en la foto.
