Thank you to all who take the time to Comment/fav etc..Always appreciated.
The painted bunting is a sparrow-sized bird about 5 and a half inches in length. It is one of the most colorful birds in North America. The male has bright red underparts and rump. It has a green back, a blue head and a red eye ring.
The female is bright yellow-green with paler underparts. Both the male and the female have dark brown or black wings, a dark bill and dark legs.
There are two breeding populations of the painted bunting in the United States. The eastern population breeds from North Carolina south to northern Florida. The western population breeds from Kansas and Missouri south to the Gulf Coast and northeastern Mexico. The painted bunting winters in southern Florida, Mexico, Central America, and Cuba.
The painted bunting forages on the ground and in low vegetation for seeds, insects, spiders and snails.
I found this female (Or male Juvenile) in my back yard in Polk County, Florida.

Ventral view. I also posted the dorsal view.
Painted Lady Butterflies are seen here only every four or five years, so it was exciting to see one today. They haven't been in our area since 2019.
This individual is a little pale and battered, but we should be seeing fresh ones here through the summer and even in September.

After not seeing any of these beautiful butterflies for a few years, it's been heartwarming to see a few Painted Ladies this summer.
Thank you for taking the time to view this image and for leaving me a comment! Have a great day!

Caution! Adorableness abounds! I took a little side trip to SaNaRae this morning and found this sweet set by Belle Epoque that is currently only 99L a piece! I love the design of the top as it falls easily into that sugary sexy category that I love. I'm wearing Due's new Mina hair and the ultra-rare skin from Mudskin that is sunkissed and....

The always gorgeous Painted Trillium. I found some at a preserve which is only a 5 minute drive from my house. I have only found these at two or three locations near me. They are more prevalent in the Adirondacks, so always happy when I see them popping up in my area.
I hope everyone enjoys this image!
More front-yard Sea Lavender. Lots of Painted Ladies dropping in - brings memories of last year - I'd never SEEN so many. You could be just driving down the road and blow through a swarm of them. It was crazy. Not doing much driving right now - "stay at home" like our Governor says.

This pair could not have posed any better. They are named so due to their distinctive pink tertial feathers. They forage in flocks in shallow waters along rivers or lakes. They immerse their half open beaks in water and sweep them from side to side and snap up their prey of small fish that are sensed by touch. As they wade along they also stir the water with their feet to flush hiding fish. The Painted Stork is widely distributed over the plains of Asia but are absent from very dry or desert regions, dense forests and the higher hill regions. They began to appear in the state of Kerala only in the 1990s. Breeding is always on large trees, usually in areas where nesting trees are secured over long periods of time, including in wetland reserves and along community-managed village ponds and lakes. They feed in groups in shallow wetlands, crop fields and irrigation canals. This was clicked at the famous Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary.
