The Nlak’pamux Church, also known as St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church. c. Early 1900's

Believed to be built sometime between 1905 - 1907

A photographer's favorite.

A small wood framed, Gothic Revival building, it is quite straightforward in design, with a small narthex at the front of the rectangular nave, a small bell tower over the entrance and a small altar extending out the rear. The bell tower is of interesting design, rising out of the gable of the narthex, with a shingled steeple like a little brown helmet, surmounted by a wooden cross. The belfry vents, with gable tops, are open all around, exposing the 26 inch bell which still hangs within. The building is clad entirely in shingles, many of which are now coming adrift, indicating its recent years of inactivity. All openings are rectangular, lacking Gothic arches, doubtless concessions to economics and the need to complete the church in a timely fashion.

Tagging The Walkway....

The graphiti around Brampton can get overwhelming. anything stationary or even moving is a target. they tag mailboxes, sides of buildings and underground walkways.... most are just scribble but every once in a while there is artistic merit to the tagging. not to justify the practice but as a photographer i appreciate art in all its forms natural and unnatural.

Thank you for visiting and for marking my photo as a favourite and also for the kind comments,

If only photographs could deliver aroma as well as simple visual elegance. The perfume from these flowers from a few feet away is overwhelming. From my Gold Coast garden, flowering on despite heat and drought.

There's now overwhelming scientific evidence that neonicotinoids harm bees. Neonicotinoids are a group of a group of pesticides commonly used in UK farming. The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) declared in 2013 that they posed an “unacceptable risk” to bees, leading to temporary restrictions.

And in April 2018 countries across the European Union – including the UK – voted to ban the outdoor use of 3 bee-harming pesticides. We want the UK government to keep any EU restrictions on bee-harming pesticides post-Brexit.

Together we can ban bee-harming pesticides for good so bees can thrive.

The City of White Rock has a railway that runs along the waterfront. This single track rail line operates 24 hours a day and is operated by Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway (BNSF) and is used by BNSF and Amtrak passenger trains.

Burlington Northern Santa Fe, LLC is the parent company of the BNSF Railway (formerly the Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Railway). The company is an indirect, wholly owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway, which is controlled by investor Warren Buffett.

History

The Burlington Northern Santa Fe Corporation was incorporated in 1993 to facilitate the merger of Burlington Northern, Incorporated, parent of the Burlington Northern Railroad, and Santa Fe Pacific Corporation, which owned the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway (Santa Fe). The corporate merger was consummated on September 22, 1995, at which point shareholders of the previous companies became shareholders of BNSF and the two companies became wholly owned subsidiaries of BNSF. In December 1996, the two holding companies and two railroads were formally merged, and in January 1998 the remaining intermediate holding company was folded into the railroad.

Robert D. Krebs of Santa Fe Pacific was president of BNSF from the merger until 1999, chief executive from the merger until 2000, and chairman from 1997 until 2002. He was succeeded in all three positions by Matthew K. Rose.

On November 3, 2009, Berkshire Hathaway made a $26 billion offer to buy the remaining 77.4% of Burlington Northern Santa Fe Corporation it did not already own, valuing the purchase at $34 billion. The deal, which including Berkshire's previous investment and the assumption of $10 billion in Burlington Northern debt brings the total value to $44 billion. Consummated February 12, 2010, it is the largest acquisition in Berkshire Hathaway's history.

The deal was structured so that the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Corporation would merge with and into R Acquisition Company, LLC, an indirect, wholly owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway. The deal closed on February 12, 2010, and at the same time, the now merged company changed its name to Burlington Northern Santa Fe, LLC that remains an indirect, wholly owned subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway.

WHYTE CLIFF PARK

15.63 hectares (0.1563 km2; 0.0603 sq mi)

Operated by:

District of West Vancouver

Whytecliff Park is located near West Vancouver's Horseshoe Bay Neighbourhood, the original name of which was White Cliff City, which opened in 1909. In 1914, Colonel Albert Whyte pressed for the spelling change from White Cliff City to Whytecliff. The Whytecliff area is now distinct from Horseshoe Bay. The park, originally Rockcliffe Park, was developed by W.W. Boultbee in 1926, and a private access road was cut from the Marine Drive highway at Batchelor Bay.

The fifty acre Boultbee estate was purchased by the Union Steamship Company in 1939 and the company operated a Bowen Island Ferry from Whytecliff during 1939-41 and 1946-1952

The park is currently home to more than 200 marine animal species and is the first Marine Protected Area in Canada. Sea lions can be seen sunbathing on the beach during summer.

The art in Paris is overwhelming. And Musee d'Orsay is no exception. Look at this huge painting--Luncheon on the Grass by Claude Monet. The painting was started in 1884 and was created as a tribute to a painting by Manet, who had created a painting also entitled Luncheon On the Grass. The original Monet painting was much larger, but Monet eventually used it to pay rent by giving it to his landlord. The landlord rolled it up and stored it until Monet got it back, in somewhat of a moldy state. Those parts were cut up and eliminated. What you see here is what was left. It is magnificent up close. Clearly, Williams doesn’t mind taking a few risks. He doesn’t expect Christian thinking to be safe or easy. Indeed, he once remarked that the best theology is like ‘the noise of someone falling over things in the dark’ 13–an awkward, inelegant testimony to the God who rearranges the furniture of our lives. This is the God who ‘enters into a world of confusion and ambiguity, and works in contradictions.’ 14 After all, even God’s own self-communication in our world was not a unilateral declaration but an appalling, ambiguous zigzag of death and resurrection. Such a God does not console us or fulfil our wishes but strips us of our fantasies and brings our religious expectations under judgement.

This one, this form I hold now.

Embracing you, this reality here,

This one, this form I hold now, so

Wide eyed and hopeful.

Wide eyed and hopefully wild.

We barely remember what came before this precious moment,

Choosing to be here right now. Hold on, stay inside...

This body holding me, reminding me that I am not alone in

This body makes me feel eternal. All this pain is an illusion.

The Salmon Arm Wharf was constructed in 1907, now over 100 years ago in order to deal with the large mudflats and swampy areas that exist at the head of Shuswap Lake.

This large 440-foot pier is situated on beautiful Shuswap Lake and actually holds, not only the title of 'Largest Wooden Wharf in British Columbia and Canada' but holds the title of 'Largest Wooden 'fresh water' Wharf in North America'.

In 2008 I made double dose and I gave many away besides the ones my relatives take home with them after dinner.

Can you tell the difference which ones are proof naturally?

It was at 6 a.m. but it was amazing. I was lucky that our motorhome was in the camping placed aside the waterfall.

This opportunity had me thinking of todays title because there is so very much at the top, and so little at the bottom. This theory purports that " tax breaks and benefits for corporations and the wealthy will trickle down to everyone else". This economic notion persists, although we are overwhelmingly witness to various corporations taking larger gross profit margins, while starving off and slowing down, exhausting payouts.

Take for example the world of telephony in our Country. Amalgamating companies should lead to fewer redundancies, thus decreasing corporate costs. Increased profits could then trickle down to customers and lower their bills. Instead, our waterfalls better illustrates any words I could harvest to explain what actually happens..

'Why be a copy, when you born an original'

It’s so scary, overwhelming, overpowering and feels inescapable when the terror of your reality pulls you back into your past and feels like it’s happening in the present and you experience an involuntarily mental escape for the sake of your survival. This is not a sign that you are bad. This is not a sign that you did something wrong. This is not a sign that you are worthless. This is not a sign that you are too messed up. This is not a sign that you are lazy. This is not a sign that you are weak. This is what happens when your body and mind are faced with a reality too intense and overwhelming to handle—a protective gift to help with your survival that was built into you (and everyone else) when you were created. You fight so hard to survive these moments too terrorizing for words, these acts of horrendous harm done to you that still have excruciating, debilitating, painful effects on you. Please keep breathing, please keep trying to look for tiny pieces of light when it feels as though you’re pulled into the inescapable darkness and your surroundings are unrecognizable. You are a survivor, courageously fighting for life.

Though your experience with feeling the need to escape the brutal effects of harm is still extremely difficult and continues to be incredibly painful, you can see some evidence of your dedication and deep, hard work. While still terrorizing, debilitating and isolating, sometimes you can notice just a little less darkness in your blurry and disorienting reality. You can sometimes see a tiny bit more hope, light, and connection to yourself, others and your Creator. You still suffer a lot, still have a long journey ahead of you and you’re doing the work of growing, recovering, restoring and healing. Thank you for continuing on in the fight for your life.

This image was created one evening, outside in our yard and I tried to do what I could to cope. One tool that helps me cope with the effects of trauma is through therapeutic photography. Among other benefits this helps me to have a voice when I am unable to speak audibly, gives me a sense of safety and control (things that harm and trauma took away from me), to be mindful, to process thoughts, feelings and experiences and gives meaning and insight to my experiences, especially when it seems to be beyond what I can express with words.

"Glimmers are those moments in your day that make you feel joy, happiness, peace, or gratitude. Once you train your brain to be on the lookout for glimmers, these tiny moments will appear more and more.” ~Unknown

The highlight of my day was seeing this evening's golden light. It was the glimmer I needed. I have had an overwhelming week - ok, who am I kidding...an overwhelming summer. It really it's much different than any other year. I keep stretching myself way too thin to point that today I am feeling too overwhelmed and anxious.

Please don't feel the need to comment as I have not been able to reciprocate. Posting this to keep up with my photo project, to which I still enjoy but also wish I had more time to enjoy it even more. Someday that will return. In the meantime, I will keep looking for those glimmers and hope you do too.

Have a goodnight! x

I DEMAND you with vengeance - Come to me you fucking demons and beasts…. I am not afraid, you cannot hurt me, you cannot break what is already broken! I am ready, eagerly here waiting for your arrival, bowing gracefully in your presence welcoming and greeting you with open arms honoring my commitment, offering myself freely without resistance so do as you must - UNRESTRAINED

Torment my disdain soul, taunt my spirit and demented mind as I am a sinner for I could not protect nor save him.... Thirstily torture me with lustful sadistic desires – Suspend me with chains and hooks through my skull, ears, eyes, nose, cheeks and dermis...

Lacerate, stab, beat, choke, bite, scratch, pick, gouge, lash, feed off and burn blistering my organic flesh leaving only bone as the flaming lipids drip quenching Gaîa as I deserve it then dribble toxic corrosive cocktails from your mouth into my open wounds off your tongue…. Watch me in delight as I wallow in my hallucinations, delusions, distortions, noise, insanity and numbness contemplating while drowning in my failures…. I can take it, I will OWN it, you will not see me quiver nor flinch.... I will unconditionally beseech for more each and every time you swipe inflicting on me OVER and OVER and OVER again

Swipe taking your best shots with full force and no holding back as I will come searching for, hunting you in the dark whispers of a celestial night standing in the shadows at the very gates of hell where I announce my presence with wailing GRROWWLLLZ while making my way through the labyrinth crawling on my bleeding cursed hands and knees dragging my persecuted feet in shame to the depths of your lair where time stands still for eternity unleashing my wrath.... Pinning you down into the deep gritty earth of consumed souls with my foot as I tare your fucking tail off with my bare hands shoving it down your throat feeding it to you whole, allowing you to breathe solely through your nostrils while taking in overwhelming contentment watching you wide eyed with dilated pupils as you gag, splatter and choke…. Slowly peeling the scales off your body one by one with my fingernails watching in amusement as they weep.... Using your horns as reins while chewing through your thoracic anatomy with clotted blood dribbling down my face, neck and all over my torso as my GRROWWLLLZ echo off the chamber walls and throughout the labyrinth while looking deep into your soul through the window of your besieged eyes begging me for redemption as I drink in sacrifice warm foaming blood with every last heartbeat from your squirting aorta punishing you for all my failures and sins if you fail your calling and duty

Revive me each time when I fade to die as there is no glory in death without a journey full of suffering and pain, I seek retribution and wish to have consciousness while relishing in your inflictions 🔪🔪🔪 upon me

The birds were busy elsewhere on a recent trip to Kensington Metropark, Michigan. I became aware of the overwhelming, intoxicatingly-sweet perfume of the overgrown Honeysuckle shrubs that lined the trails and filled the understory of the woods.
