During my A-level Photography exam, I created an installation piece a trench coat covered in my own imagery. I borrowed a friend’s jacket to draft a makeshift pattern and used calico as the base, as it absorbed my transfer technique beautifully. It was my first time attempting something like this, and it worked surprisingly well. The other two images show my friend’s shirt, which had burn holes. I repaired it using patchwork for the first time. Both processes taught me not to overthink and to approach challenges head-on.
This is part of my methodology for an original film idea called 'The issues of Overthinking'. This story line outlines some of the scene ideas I have for the film in act one,two and three.

Banananana! The peanut-covered ones are kind of gross it turns out, so we, uh, skinned it and fed the peanuts to the carp. Try not to overthink this.
While taking these photos I let my camera sit and take continuous photos on a timer. It looks like I am reaching for something in every pic I took! This was not by intention; but every picture I took (about 7) were all very similar. Instead of criticizing and overthinking what would be appropriate or which are the best shots of my hands, I'm just going with it.

Yeah that's my problem, overthink too much and I don't like it. So what I do is just listen to music or do some hobbies and not think about it.

When My Mind Wouldn't Shut Up…
There was a time when even the quietest night felt deafening inside my head.
I’d lie awake staring at the ceiling, thoughts spiraling—replaying conversations, worrying about tomorrow, doubting decisions I’d already made. I tried deep breathing, journaling, guided meditations… nothing stuck. Then, during a short trip to my grandmother’s village in Rajasthan, I noticed something that changed everything.
She’d sit silently every evening, holding a tiny copper bowl filled with water, dipping her fingers in, and rhythmically tapping the center of her forehead.
She called it “man-shaant kriya”—a traditional mind-calming technique passed down generations. And surprisingly, it took just two minutes.
The first time I tried it, I wasn’t expecting much. But something shifted. My thoughts slowed down. My breath deepened. It felt like my brain finally exhaled.
This isn’t just village wisdom. Science is beginning to catch up. And today, I want to share this powerful 2-minute technique that anyone can use—anytime your mind won’t stop racing.
️ What Is Overthinking? And Why It’s So Dangerous
Overthinking is more than just “thinking too much.” It’s a form of mental looping—your brain fixates on worries, decisions, past regrets, or hypothetical situations. You’re stuck in your head, analyzing but never resolving.

A photo from last summer's drive through Yellowstone, because that's the kind of mood I'm in. A dead tree stands apart from an otherwise verdant forest in the northeastern corner of the park. If you're the type who likes to overthink things, you might think this must mean something, when in the end it means that trees are mortal. Every once in a while, one dies.
