"Morgan Scores Again" - this is Morgan Laplante (center) at the soccer complex managed by her father, Michael Laplante. Michael is the son of my good friends, Barbara and John Laplante. Overland Park, Kansas, is a suburb of Kansas City.

From 1926 to 1928, a car known as the Overland Whippet was in production. It was made by Overland, which was absorbed by Kaiser-Jeep and from there probably to Chrysler. The remains of this Overland Whippet, which includes the steering wheel, is on display with other abandoned vehicle relics at a roadside restaurant called Hilbilly Hotdogs at Lesage WV.

We went to a 60th Wedding Anniversary party in Wingham yesterday. The special couple arrived in style in this car. Unfortunately we missed their arrival but still got a look at this antique car.

Day 5: Weds 13th Sept - Jasper to Kamloops

First stop Bear Bakery for cinnamon bun and scone for breakfast, plus sandwiches for picnic lunch.

Temperature only 6-7 degrees after storms last night.

Start journey towards Kamploops…cross “The Great Divide” of Alberta/ British Columbia border at 09:15/08:15 (gain an hour).

Into Mount Robson Provincial Park, driving at cloud level! View Mt. Robson in cloud so detour to Overlander Falls while clouds clear

and then finally see Mt. Robson in all its glory:

I take my first and only drive of the car (I don’t like automatics and this is much bigger than my Fiesta!!) on the Yellowhead Highway.

We stop at Diary Queen for ice-cream before heading into Wells Gray Provincial Park for Helmcken Falls - 4th highest in Canada at 141m, higher than Niagra. (Followed the slowest camper van up the mountain – very frustrating!)

Onto Kamloops where we get lost in the town centre until find the highway east of town.

Arrive at the South Thompson Guest Ranch, complete with horses in the paddocks lining the driveway.

This is a rare 1919 Overland Model 4.

This is a fully self-contained robust overland vehicle made with LEGO bricks that offers luxury off-grid living. It was modeled after the Earthroamer LTI. Built on a Ford F-550 chassis, this camper will take your mini-figs to places other vehicles would never dare.

The interior offers generous space to relax, eat, play games, work, or watch movies. The over-cab bunk makes a great lounge area for reading, watching TV or listening to music, while the main cabin space provides seating for up to 4 mini-figs. There is also plenty of storage for food, clothes, and gear.

NR 97 on the Up at Murtoa

This scenic waterfall on the Fraser River is named after the 1862 Overlanders, a group of roughly 150 Canadian settlers who left their homes near Fort York (now Toronto) in search of gold, somewhere close to the Cariboo region of British Columbia's interior.
