ECCC Public Affairs Section has started the job of distributing 10,000 copies of the Duch-verdict (450 pages) and 17,000 copies of the summary (36 pages). These documents will available in all 1,621 communes in Cambodia as well as in libraries, schools and other public institutions.

 

Kaing Guek Eav alias Duch was found guilty of crimes against humanity and war crimes and sentenced to 35 years of imprisonment on 26 July 2010. He is the first person to stand trial before the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia, more commonly referred to as the Khmer Rouge tribunal.

The California Department of Insurance yesterday, led a statewide enforcement outreach focused on providing information to businesses that may operate in California’s multi-billion dollar underground economy. The multi-agency team, which included the Contractors State License Board, the Employment Development Department, Franchise Tax Board, Department of Industrial Relations and local district attorneys visited dozens of locations across the state to educate business owners of their obligations to comply with insurance, licensing, workplace safety, labor laws and tax codes.

NEWPORT, R.I. – The U.S. Naval War College (NWC) holds a commencement ceremony for the College of Naval Command and Staff and the College of Naval Warfare 2023 graduating classes June 16, 2023, on board Naval Station Newport. The ceremony, presided over by NWC President Rear Admiral Shoshana Chatfield, saw 468 students from senior-level leadership and intermediate-level leadership courses, including 103 international students representing 78 countries recognized alongside 1,925 students having completed coursework through NWC’s College of Distance Education programs, 121 of whom attended the graduation in person. Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield, U.S. Representative to the United Nations, gave the commencement address. Established in 1884, NWC is the oldest institution of its kind in the world. More than 50,000 students have graduated since its first class of nine students in 1885 and about 300 of today’s active-duty admirals, generals and senior executive service leaders are alumni. Since creating a program for international officers in 1956, the college has more than 4,500 international alumni from 137 countries worldwide. Approximately 10 percent of these alumni have become chief of their country’s respective navy. Through a coalition of university units and faculty led by Auburn University Outreach’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute, plans are underway to produce 10,000 protective face masks to meet the growing demand due to COVID-19. The initiative will provide the pre-cut materials and instruction needed for volunteers to make the face masks.

Christ I hate working on multiple uncalibrated monitors, I'm continuously worried I'm overdoing it, and editing in greyscale always feels so much easier to fuck up than colour for some reason.

Anyway, some recent Hassy B&W. Two more rolls to develop and scan, so more pictures coming soon. Kind of excited actually; this roll turned out beautifully and I know there's some interesting stuff on the others.
