Taken at Brush Hill Nature Reserve, Buckinghamshire, another view of these wonderful trees reaching out from their enclosure wearing their winter coating of frost. The sun was stupidly harsh and I had to bide my time to try and get some ray action in the mist that remained.

This is taken on Stanton Moor - a wonderful plateau high up in the Peak District. The lone tree stands bent by the force of nature, it's branches reaching out to the open heath that lies before it. My wife, Lesley, mirrors the open, outstretched form of the tree and Lola looks on thinking WTF! An image of freedom, joy and fun (I hope)

Shelly Beach headland over the weekend.
Quite a scramble to get to this spot..... Even the ocean was struggling to conquer the large boulders.
I have been nominated by Andy Gant to carryout the 5 Day B&W challenge. This is Day 2. Due to the processing in this one it's also a fit for Sliders Sunday! HSS!
Many thanks Andy!

Another action shot from my sweet little cheetah spot.
And my title is a play on words as the two cheetah brothers are actually from www.cheetah.co.za/
Check them out as they do such a good job with education and community-based programs which raise awareness of the plight of the cheetah and to campaign for its survival.

Haleakala NP, Maui, HI
My heart goes out to all those affected by the latest natural disasters on Hawai'i. While there, I traveled directly through that area and interacted with some of its people and it's hard to imagine it being utterly destroyed. A harrowing reminder of nature's power.
This is a photo of an absolutely massive banyan tree on Maui. For scale, my head would maybe reach the bottom of the large low branch. It was taken on the lower part of Haleakala National Park (where my last couple of volcanic photos were from), but closer to the ocean. After bailing on the cold, windy summit, we drove a long, bumpy, and beautiful country road to a relatively secluded tropical rainforest and coastal area. You can never go wrong with secluded paradise! This was the first time I can recall being in a tropical rainforest and I now know the meaning of sweaty.

Also taken on Gorleston beach, this photo is probably my favourite black and white photo i have ever taken.
I love the way the groynes disappear into the sea and the lights from the ships out at sea dominate the horizon
Very rare that i compliment my own photo's... but someone has got to do it, lol

Madrona Marsh is located in Torrance, CA, the sky is Bortle 8-9. A Seestar with a 24" monitor was able to image and display all of the objects from this composite image. Most of the objects imaged are invisible or faint grey smudges from this sky with modest sized telescopes. The Seestar can bring these objects to the public making astronomy accessible.
