I have had my fair issues with BT over the years, especially the past 3 months where my line has been disconnected twice, and cost me days in working time.
Alas it seems another BT Openworld Engineer is at work today in the BT manhole outside.
Just check that mess of wires.
Burger King #6001 (3,946 square feet)
1901 South Military Highway, Chesapeake Crossing, Chesapeake, VA
Built and opened in 1988, renovated in the late 2000s
Here we have the other outdated Chesapeake Burger King owned by struggling franchisee TOMS King, this one being just north of the Greenbrier area and I-64. For all of its' life this BK had a sister location only a mile away northeastern on South Military Highway, which was also a TOMS King operation but was shuttered in November due to the franchisee considering it unprofitable. I've wondered for a while why they felt the need to operate two locations so close together, and that closure confirms that it hasn't been necessary to keep both of them in business in recent times. So the Chesapeake Crossing BK was picked as the winner, and since I've always noticed a steadier flow of customers at this location I can see why (plus it's open 24 hours, which indicates to me that even in the early AM they can pull customers). Unless TOMS King goes completely under I believe that this one isn't going anywhere anytime soon!
The dining room's buildout is typical of most other 80s Burger King locations, including the one I'd visited earlier in the morning on Battlefield Boulevard. It occupies the building's front end, and still has its' side solarium. The aesthetic dates back to the late 2000s, featuring the commonly seen package with the textured ceiling tiles, etched glass partitions, square hanging light/ceiling tiles suspended from the ceiling, and earthy tones. Their original wooden rafter ceiling is hidden above the drop tile ceiling, unlike Battlefield Boulevard, but the flooring appears to be original. I wonder if another remodel will ever take place at this location if it really is as profitable as it seems to be. TOMS King doesn't appear to have a list online of every restaurant they own, so as far as I know these two Chesapeake locations are the only ones they have in Hampton Roads.
