We needed a final meal before catching our flights, so it was either Outback or Burger King in the airport. Outback it was.
Arriving at Longreach we were taken by Cobb & Co Coach (Courtesy of Kinnon & Co) into town. Great introduction to Outback Queensland, (if a little surreal after arriving by plane) but really set the scene for the weekend. This is the son of the owner of the coach who escorted us on the trip.

The highlands of Iceland have a lot in common with the Australian Outback and are yet totally different. Not only is it much colder. Also Blunnies don't work here.

This was South Australia’s northern-most pastoral lease, which was initially taken up in 1873. It passed through the hands of several owners until finally being abandoned in 1925.
The buildings were built sometime between 1873 and 1885. This small settlement consisted of the homestead, a shed, workmen's quarters, blacksmith's shop and the stockyards. The homestead is thought to be the earliest structure.
