"We do not remember days, we remember moments. The richness of life lies in memories we have forgotten"

-C. Pavese

Captured while enjoying a moment at home...

>> You have filled every aching ounce of me ,

with a love I never imagined existed. You are the love of my life and the life of my love .

I realized that telling you my truth and showing myself to you,

standing in front of you with truth as my only weapon and your words were : You are safe with me...I knew right there , that is what intimacy is ..not about sex, nor anything else..real intimacy is about truth.

You know I am all beast,

you also know that even the most savage and untamed need to be loved...and you did.

You loved all of me , every day ,

you showed my all I never knew existed. My person , my best friend, my darling wife ..you are my all and everything in this universe. My soul adorbs yours, and we will never ever be apart .

I am forever yours and you are forever mine. I love you more forever and always baby love. <<

The Parthenon (/ˈpɑːrθəˌnɒn, -nən/; Ancient Greek: Παρθενών; Greek: Παρθενώνας, Parthenónas) is a former temple, on the Athenian Acropolis, Greece, dedicated to the goddess Athena, whom the people of Athens considered their patron. Construction began in 447 BC when the Athenian Empire was at the peak of its power. It was completed in 438 BC although decoration of the building continued until 432 BC. It is the most important surviving building of Classical Greece, generally considered the zenith of the Doric order. Its decorative sculptures are considered some of the high points of Greek art. The Parthenon is regarded as an enduring symbol of Ancient Greece, Athenian democracy and Western civilization, and one of the world's greatest cultural monuments. To the Athenians who built it, the Parthenon and other Periclean monuments of the Acropolis, were seen fundamentally as a celebration of Hellenic victory over the Persian invaders and as a thanksgiving to the gods for that victory. The Greek Ministry of Culture is currently carrying out a program of selective restoration and reconstruction to ensure the stability of the partially ruined structure. Shot taken from our home in Oakland at about 9 a.m. I have lived in the Bay Area for 44 years now & this is the 1st time a view like this has ever happened. The eerie effect of the raging CA wildfires. Lasted all day. Grateful that this is the absolute worst we encountered, as countless people not far away had to flee for their lives, some losing their lives, so many losing their homes, etc.

The house is in an uproar right now; we're having the master bathroom remodeled. Even though there is noise and a variety of strange men wandering through her domain, Corky's enjoying the empty boxes and various pieces of cardboard lying around. She particularly likes this one since it's high and she can survey what's left of her kingdom.

She looked comfortable, so I took the time to get my real camera and my 24-200. Nasty ISO, but it's OK as a snapshot. And to give you (and me) a Corky fix.

This is one of the many things we made together #OurHome #Decorate #Love #Winter #Christmas …

Well, maybe a little eclectic. It now has the birdcage, a chainsaw-carved morel mushroom(thank you Gary), and a bedpan, amongst other various bloom helpers. Most of the ideas stem from my better half, and usually look better than we thought. It is nice to have literally around the house...anyways, care to sit a while???

Corky always seems disappointed when I find her latest hiding place.

It snowed heavily in Tokyo area yesterday. This is our spot garden seen from our entrance floor and also seen from bath, a feast for our eyes. You can hardly believe that tree and grass are all artificial.

Happy Friday!

Many thanks for your visit, most appreciated.

This is kind of a variation on this image. After I had taken the first picture, Kate put the Chewy box up instead because it was a little bigger. Then we realized that the good folks at Chewy might enjoy it.

They did us a solid a few years ago, and we (and Corky) have remained pretty loyal.

Our usual icicles, by the front porch. I didn't even put shoes on to photograph these. I have to knock off some of the icicles to avoid incommoding the passers-by, but these I let go to just grow and grow and grow.

These are regular bloomers in our front yard. I wanted something different from the studio versions that I usually do. So there I was, with landscape guys staring and the occasional dog barking, crouching down taking pictures. I'm sure a good time was had by all. ;-)

Our house faces south, so there's a nice sunbeam that hits the floor by the front door. Unfortunately, Corky has been late coming to the party and only gets a little bit of herself in the light.

This time, she finally got there early enough to get everything in. She still doesn't quite grasp orbital mechanics though, and fails to shift as the beam moves.

I keep calling her whenever the sunbeam appears, but she doesn't trust me. For example, there's a nice one right now. But is she there? Nope. I've told her. But she's lying on the bed. Sheesh. Her loss.

A very big thank you to Thailand and her wonderful people, who have looked after us so well over these past seven years!

These are some of our most memorable family moments while we were here, from the day of first arrival, through Covid and on to our daughters graduating from High School and heading off to university.

We've got a few remaining days here after we finish work to say our goodbyes before we head back to England for some family time. I shall be back in August when we head off to our new home to work at a different school. We're very much looking forward to the challenge, which will be very different to here. All to be revealed when I resume my Flickr time but look out for my fourth different moniker and a new profile picture.

Have a fantastic summer everyone and thanks for all your continued support!

We had the family Christmas yesterday. During the gift exchange, my niece got a stuffed pink, uh, something for her dog. It went into a pile with the rest of her haul

Eventually, Corky came out to join the festivities. She was wondering around, sniffing everyone and everything. When, suddenly, she was nose-to-nose with this pink thing. She was visibly startled, taking at least one step back. She stared at it for several minutes, rattled that we had let this beast into her domain.

She eventually beat a hasty retreat, but came out a little later. Her short term memory really sucks. This time, she saw it from a distance, approached very carefully, and observed this pink monster from about 8 feet away. Then I suddenly realized I should be taking pictures.

At one point, she settled into her attack posture. She was well and truly freaked out. What fun!

I'm considering getting one of these just to keep her on her toes.

We're trying to figure out what her concern was. Kate thinks it's just an animal about her size, and she was being territorial. My theory is that, somewhere in her genetic cat memory, she saw tusks. Never mind that they're attached to a small, soft, squishy pink thing. Tusks are never good.

Anyway, she's not talking so we'll never know.

And so ends Corky's almost deadly Christmas encounter.

I hope you all had a Merry Christmas. And have a Happy New Year!

This is for you my friend!

He spent all day Saturday watching the world while clinging to the screen. And he let me get awfully close. The front of the lens was about a foot away. I was worried he might be dead, but he moved his head around, watching me. Creepy.
