The Gergeti Trinity Church, located in Georgia, is situated on a mountain top near the village of Gergeti, near Stepantsminda Kazbegi in the Caucasus region, at an altitude of about 2,170 metres. The first light of dawn in the foreground of the photo enhances the mystical character of the location, while the snow-capped peaks and the dark silhouettes of the church emphasize the dramatic atmosphere of the landscape. This area is popular with hikers and photographers for its breathtaking views and historical value. The impressive snow-capped peaks of Mount Kazbek in the background are illuminated by the golden glow of the rising sun. The Georgian Orthodox church was built in the 14th century and is a beautiful example of medieval Georgian architecture. The church is an important national symbol of Georgia and attracts many pilgrims and tourists every year. Behind the Gergeti Trinity Church lies Kazbek (in Georgian: მყინვარწვერი, Mkinvartsveri), with an altitude of 5,054 meters one of the highest and most famous mountains in Georgia and the Greater Caucasus.

Wikipedia:

The Alexander Nevsky Cathedral is an orthodox cathedral in the Tallinn Old Town, Estonia. It was built to a design by Mikhail Preobrazhensky in a typical Russian Revival style between 1894 and 1900, during the period when the country was part of the Russian Empire. The Alexander Nevsky Cathedral is Tallinn`s largest and grandest orthodox cupola cathedral. It is dedicated to Saint Alexander Nevsky who in 1242 won the Battle of the Ice on Lake Peipus, in the territorial waters of present-day Estonia. The late Russian patriarch, Alexis II, started his priestly ministry in the church. Later on, as the USSR was officially non-religious, many churches including this cathedral were left to decline. The church has been meticulously restored since Estonia regained independence from the Soviet Union in 1991. The church`s towers hold Tallinn`s most powerful church bell ensemble, consisting of 11 bells, including the largest in Tallinn, weighing 15 tonnes.

Foggy morning with orthodox church in Prishtina

Svetitskhoveli Georgian Orthodox Cathedral, Tblisi Georgia. This cathedral dates from 1029, but suffered damage from earthquakes and was desecrated multiple times by marauding armies.

The small structure under the archway is a 'ciborium' said to house the robe of Jesus beneath; it dates from the 1600's.

The interior is stripped to bare essentials, truly an ascetic temple of worship and a moving experience even for those without faith.

The design of Orthodox Churches is very ornate and the winter church at the Curchi Monastery in Moldova is spectacular. With icons depicting religious scenes all around the sight is breath taking.

This Russian Orthodox Church sits on top of a hill overlooking the village of Ninilchik, Alaska. In the foreground is a graveyard, still in use based on the presence of flowers at some of the gravesites. This area has a heavily Russian heritage, and the village name is Russian (as are many of the town/village names in the area).
