Orient Express train, powered by Lego train motors and controlled by PFx Brick. It has steam function as well (BigZ31 , many thanks for inspiration). Soon I will present video how it works and runs on rails.
It took me more than a year before I found the right moment to visit this old train. It is situated on an active rail site where a lot of trains pass by.
After we did a location early morning we decided to pay the Orient Express a visit.
One thing's for sure: They don't make trains like these anymore!
Big sofa's inside the carriage and a lot of space. Made to travel in the most convenient way. Until you check the area where the engineer aka train driver did his job. A big dieselmachine right behind the steering weel and big pipes throughout the room, probably filled with hot fumes or liquids when it was operational. A big contrast to the confortable carriages in the back.
Of these dieselelectric trains only three were built in the 1930's and this piece is the only one left....

Detail of the seat tube and seat post area of my J.Guillem Orient. Every model from J.Guillem is named after a certain place or road on Mallorca. This one after the Coll d'Orient. Nice detail: the lattitude and longitude of the summit are imprinted on the seat tube also.

A sequence of night shots on the magnificent Oriente Station, designed by the spanish architect Santiago Calatrava in Lisbon, Portugal.
The Orient Cave was discovered by James Wiburd, Jack Edwards and Robert Bailey in 1904 and opened for public inspection on 28th December 1917.
A two frame stitch with the Sigma 12-24mm at 12mm, wide open, hand held 1/50 in available light at 6400 ISO. The cave roof in the Persian Chamber is 30 metres from the floor at the highest point.

Of these diesel electric trains only three were built in the 1930's and this piece is the only one left....
The ride must have been a comfortable ride for the passengers, but the engineer must have had an harder job.
The steering and controls of the train are 2 or 3 meters of the main Diesel engine. It must have been hot and loud in there..
Visited this location in August 2014 and will do a revisit for sure.

The legendary Orient Express arrived in Budapest for two days. After the passengers got off at the Western Railway station, the train was taken to Istvántelek repair shop for washing and cleaning.

The 1940s saw the Orient Express at its most popular, with three parallel companies providing services, the Orient Express, the Simplon Orient Express, and also the Arlberg Orient Express, During this time, these trains acquired a reputation for comfort and luxury, with sleeping accommodation and restaurant cars known for the high quality of their cuisine. Royalty, nobles, diplomats, business people, and the bourgeoisie in general patronized them. Orient Express companies served most of Europes most important cities and provided first class travel from one end of continental Europe to the other.

Planned a sunset shoot here for some time, and, even thou the weather wasn't 'pleasant' for most of the day (storms and much rain) 'Clear Outside' still insisted on close to the right conditions for a sunset attempt.
Knocked off early head a quick lunch at home and left for the Shoalhaven (in the rain!) - Ended up spending most of an hour scouting all around the 'point trying different compositions before heading back to the car for a light dinner and a cuppa.
I'd noticed the gap under the clouds at the escarpment so I was pretty hopefull for a decent outcome, I'd brought the KP with me so I set it up to do it's thing every ten seconds and, just left it running.
I've got a a few decent shots from the Pentax K1 .. but going thru the timelapse the little fella's done pretty good too.
An extremely short clip but I hope you enjoy this little slice of weather as much as I did.

Nur selten wählt der Touristen-Luxuszug "Venice Simplon Orient Express" einen vom Regelweg abweichenden Laufweg. Zuletzt wurde der Zug am 06.06.16 über Trier, Saarbrücken, Stuttgart und München nach Kufstein gefahren, wobei auf dem deutschen Streckenteil 120 133 für Traktion sorgte.
