La Riserva naturale orientata Capo Gallo è una riserva naturale regionale della Sicilia, istituita in data 21 giugno 2001. È inserita nel Piano Regionale dei Parchi e delle Riserve ed è gestita dall'Azienda Foreste Demaniali della Regione Siciliana, che ha compiuto numerosi interventi volti a ricreare le condizioni ambientali originarie del territorio e a renderlo fruibile al pubblico.
La riserva comprende una area di quasi 586 ettari ed è costituita essenzialmente dal Monte Gallo, un massiccio carbonatico, formatosi decine di milioni di anni or sono fra il periodo Mesozoico e l'Eocene medio. Il Monte Gallo termina in un promontorio, denominato Capo Gallo, sul quale è situato un faro che ne segnala la posizione. Il promontorio si trova nella zona nord-occidentale di Palermo e separa i due golfi di Mondello e Sferracavallo, che ospitano gli omonimi quartieri marinari della città.

Il tratto di mare che unisce Capo Gallo con la vicina Isola delle Femmine è stato dichiarato riserva marina. Più precisamente l'Area naturale marina protetta Capo Gallo - Isola delle Femmine (tale è la corretta denominazione), istituita con decreto del Ministero dell'Ambiente del 24 luglio 2002, ha una superficie di 2.173 ettari e la sua gestione è affidata al consorzio creato tra i Comuni di Palermo e quello di Isola delle Femmine.

L'Orient Express, il treno a lunga percorrenza più famoso al mondo, appena arrivato alla stazione di Palermo Centrale.
Il lussuoso convoglio degli anni 20, appartenuto alla Compagnie Internationale des Wagons-lits, è arrivato in Italia per promuovere il progetto turistico "il Treno della Dolce Vita", nato dalla collaborazione tra Arsenale SpA e Trenitalia e che realizzerà i nuovi treni crociera italiani dal 2023.
Il treno è arrivato a Palermo composto dalla locomotiva e646-028 della Fondazione FS, tre carrozze ristorante e tre carrozze pullman di cui una saloon bar.

El edificio principal de la estación de SIRKECI se inaguró en 1890 coincidiendo con la prolongación del mítico "ORIENT EXPRESS" hasta el lado occidental de Estambul cerca de lugares tan emblemáticos como Santa Sofía, Palacio Topkapi y Mezquita Azul.
El mítico Orient Express que iba desde Paría a Estambul tuvo su época dorada en el periodo entre guerras hasta que su último viaje con servicio regular se realizó en 1977 por no poder competir con el precio y la rapidez de los aviones.
La fotografía muestre la fachada "interior" -frente a las vías- donde está situado el restaurante de 1.890.

DE Im Juli 2019 war der Venice Simplon-Orient-Express als 13469 auf der Gotthard Bergstrecke unterwegs. Zwei Re 4/4 II zogen den Zug südwärts bis Chiasso.
Ich wollte mir die Chance nicht entgehen lassen, mit diesem Zug von mir bisher nicht umgesetzte Fotomotive auszutesten. Bei der Suche nach Fotostellen verging etwas viel Zeit, wodurch mein Kollege und ich eher notgedrungen bei Meitschligen den Berg weiter hochrannten, um spontan den schönen Ausblick aufs Reusstal irgendwie umzusetzen.
Man sieht etwas viel von den weissen Wagendächern, wodurch mir das Bild zunächst nicht ganz gefiel. Doch gerade ein solch langer Zug ist für diese Perspetkive perfekt geeignet. Seit der Eröffnung des GBT kämen dafür allenfalls noch die wenigen Güterzüge in Frage.

I took the chance to search for some alternative photo points for this train. As it took too much time for it, we spontaniously ran up the hill in Meitschligen near Gurtnellen to catch the view somehow. In the end a good choice, as long trains are nescessary for this perspective, and the VSOE fits perfect.

Pictured here is a look at another of Long Island's east-end lighthouses -- The Orient Point Light. This lighthouse, also known locally as the "Coffee Pot", sits just off the eastern most point of L.I.'s North Fork.
The light is situated between Orient Point and Plum Island, and was originally constructed to help mariners navigate the waters of Plum Gut -- an inlet to the Long Island Sound. It's inaccessible to the public, but can be seen from both the beach at Orient Point and the cross sound ferry that shuttles between Orient Point and New London, CT.

Judging from what I’ve read when I tried to find out just what this building was / is / will be, opinions are divided, some locals are complaining about the cost, others think a better use could be found. One thing I think we can all agree on, it’s an amazing piece of modern architecture and needs to be maintained and used.
In August 2000, my wife and I made a trip across Canada on the American Orient Express (AOE) from Vancouver, British Columbia, to Montreal, Quebec. The train traveled mostly over CN rails, stopping at various locations for sightseeing or servicing. Two CN motors and an Amtrak F40 were our power for this part of the journey. In this scene, the train is stopped for servicing and some leg-stretching at Capreol, Ontario, on August 17, 2000. Our assigned AOE sleeping car was the BERLIN, which now rolls as a private car for Patrick Henry Creative Promotions of Houston, Texas, becoming the third car operating under that banner.
