Miles of deserted beach and a clear night sky = peace, quiet and a much needed recharge! Siltcoos Beach, Oregon Coast.

The Oregon Coast looking south toward the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area. I pulled off the highway to look back after I had passed through this lovely area. I liked how the sea mist obscured the view in the distance.

Oregon Country

I recently relocated to Oregon (Portland) and it is true the coast of this state is beautiful. The shot I took, from my point of view (but please correct me if I am wrong) describes it well: driftwoods on the beach, sea stacks, weather and light changing rapidly and these long expanses of beach

A beautiful spot right on the very southern end of Oregon.

I'm at a stop on the way up to Lake Tahoe. I arrived back in Portland on Monday night and took Wed and Thur. to drive south down the coast. It was beautiful to see but I was "grayed" out the whole time and nothing but flat light. I wanted some fog but it was so dense in places you couldn't even see the lighthouses etc. This was about the only time the skies cleared a bit for a short time. Again, worked on slightly using my crappy laptop.

I hope it will be cooler at Lake Tahoe. These temperatures of over 100 F in California are killing me!!

Ok, I seem to really like these mirror views. LOL A clear shot coming in to Oregon.

Against the cold. Dream of warm summer beaches....

Central Oregon Cascades.

It's strange having snow around here in late March.

This is on the dark side but it was taken about 10-15 minutes after the sun had set, and this is pretty much the way the scene looked when I captured it.

We were actually just talking about packing up and leaving when I looked over my shoulder and saw the sky starting to turn. I had actually given up on the sunset altogether, as it really didn't look like it would amount to anything.

On a side note, the whole 2 hours we were hanging around this spot, the coast guard helicopter was flying around in search of a man that was swept out to sea just down the beach from here... It's a very tragic incident that seem to always repeat itself along the Oregon coast during this time of year. Here is a link to the article:

A really nice sunset. I didn’t anticipate it so only had my phone with me. Better than not getting anything!

I my younger days I fished several Oregon and Northern California Rivers for Salmon and Steelhead, I wish I would have found this river back then.

A gorgeous sunset along the Oregon Coast in Yachats this summer. Looking forward to getting back there in a few weeks... Over on my facebook page www.facebook.com/darrenwhitephotography I am running my 5th annual "Name your own Price" event where you make an offer on anything you want... come over and join the fun and message me directly to make the offer... Thanks!

Oregon Coast waves in the evening. The approaching cloud bank is why it stays so cool even during heatwaves!

Another perspective on Oregon's amazing Smith Rock. In view is the bridge across the Crooked River that provides access to this impressive geo formation and the highly recommended Misery Trail (it's not that bad...)

Thanks for your visit. Always appreciated.
