I am an American.
I pay taxes.
I worked.
I was the guy who worked in his field for 20 years until the economy collapsed.
Then I was the guy who brought you your pizza. You know, a job? Not unemployment.
Then I got cancer.

Or I needed to gather my affairs.
Minimum wage meant I made too much money, according to Access, and I am denied Access.
Cancer solves the problem and removed my ability to work.
Access approved.

I was diagnosed April 1st, 2011 and had major surgery on May 12th.
I am still recovering from radiation and chemo treatments ended in August.
I am aline because I am unemployed.
Does any of this make sense?
I am the 99%

My Life Mask
This was made so they could strap my head to the table when they radiated me. This way they never had to realign my head and it kept me from moving when the beam was on me.

This photo shows the linear accelerator (LINAC) , the device most commonly used for external beam radiation treatments for patients with cancer. The linear accelerator is used to treat all parts/organs of the body. It delivers high-energy x-rays to the region of the patient's tumor. They got this equipment from donations. They can use more technicians as volunteers from the western world, since the volume of cancer patients they see are too many.

This is the photograph of a 42 years old person who is addicted to Bidi smoking for the last more than two decades. This condition is called Smoker's Palate. This is a precancerous condition for oral cancer( cancer of mouth). Biopsy of this lesion will be taken followed by appropriate treatment. But he needs to throw away that Cancer stick( Bidi !!).
April 6th
A week before my first biopsy.
I was trying to get a shot of how swollen my neck was, but you can't really tell.
5/18/11 9:10pm
In my hospital room bathroom for the first time.
You can see the feeding tube. It was held on by monofilament stitches. The red dot on my neck is a hole from where the tracheotomy tube was. I breathed through that open hole.

The staff in this hospital is excellent. Volunteers will not feel lost and frustrated. It is a beautiful village and it is a pleasure to give to this community. You will enjoy the weather here - it is much cooler than the northern part of Tamilnadu.
