Getting ready to take part in the Great British Garden Bird count. This year I offered to lead a group in our local greenspace, so gathered our full set of binoculars, printed of a set of RSPB sheets and sharpened pencils in preparation!
And in a great co-incidence, today's theme in the Smile on Saturday group is "optical instruments"! Happy SoS :-)
PS - the group walk was great fun - 14 species seen in total, and a record sent to the RSPB. Some of our regulars not seen (no collared doves, goldfinches or chaffinches) and we only heard the woodpecker, but the sun shone, and we spotted some of the snowdrops planted last year are just about to flower.
A Bino view of the stars is a frugal way to enjoy the nightly show put on in the Heavens above with no cover charge, except for maybe a coat, if it is cold :)
