Tom Hall played at Harvest Sessions on Saturday, October 20 from 10:00 a.m. until noon. Harvest Sessions is presented by KDHX Community Media, The Whitaker Foundation and Tower Grove Farmers' Market and takes place every Saturday at the West Pool Pavilion in Tower Grove Park for the duration of Tower Grove Farmers' Market's regular season. Tom Hall has been performing for over twenty years and has won national and local acclaim for his exceptional blues guitar work. Harvest Sessions is free and open to the public.
Tom Hall has played in countless bands, but his solo performances truly capture audiences. He wanders through the sounds of Argentina, Ireland and Africa, but he always returns to his musical roots. When he is playing Mississippi-inspired blues, he shines like his signature National guitar. If you have not yet seen Hall play live, don't miss this oppurtunity to catch one of St. Louis' most talented artists.
The 2007 inaugural season of Harvest Sessions has featured great concerts from local and regional performers. With Tower Grove Farmers' Market as the backdrop, Harvest Sessions also hosted an International and Children's Series that proved very popular in the community. KDHX Community Media, The Whitaker Foundation and Tower Grove Farmers' Market are proud to sponsor this free concert series on Saturday morning.

But its been hard to focus since I will get the news on Saturday or Sunday and I'm left just waiting to find out. But I am trusting God because he knows whats going to happen even though I don't. It's hard LOL.

Further work for my first pathway project 'Product of Society' I began challenging myself in my drawing and painting skills. Having never painted to to this scale before, I felt that by practising I could give myself the chance to develop and improve further. Also it was an oppurtunity to use my expressive style and technique to compose my own interpretation. As my final piece, I am to create a large scale 7ft by 6ft collaged portrait of Myra Hindley. In addition to paint, I will be collaging images I have worked into, drawings and monoprints into the piece to emphasise of my concept. My final composition will portray a photo monotague effect collage to create the infamous portrait. In the portrait above, I placed emphasis on her eyes the most, I find that is what the eye is draw to intially. It is significant to realise that it is those are we are so facinated but so frightened of. This woman's eyes have gazed upon more inhumane things we couldn't possibly process and I wanted to make this dominant.

I always knew I wanted my first trip to be to Africa, and I chose Ghana because I have friends in Ghana and would love to help people in their country".

on the sidewalk
of a ruined city
handprints visible
ijoy is possible anywhere
just find an oppurtunity
hand prints small & large
yet in a way
all similar
like buildings in a city
clustered together
may start an uproar
or an unfound friendship
What did i see in this picture?
i imagined the happiness in a small child
as they printed there hands into the wet cement
it dried over
this child left their mark on the world
unknown to them
you wonder about their dreams
maybe someday they'll make another mark
a mark of history.
