The first Thameslink franchise operated by Go-Via Group had 40 of the original 60 class 319/0 sets. These units were rebuilt at Wolverton Works between 1997-98 where first class accommodation was incorporated. The units were dedicated as "Cityflier' sets for use on the Bedford to Brighton route serving Luton and Gatwick Airports and the City on London hence the choice of name. Ironically the later built class 319/1 sets operated by Thameslink which were built with first class accommodation were overhauled at Wessex Traincare, Eastleigh Works and lost their first class becoming 'City-Metro' sets dedicated to the Luton-Sutton-Luton suburban service. The paper dart logo on the unit end (set 319 443 on the right) denoted the end the first class accommodation was located.

The different paint scheme on the pair seen here in Selhurst cleaning shed belies the fact unit 319 449 on the left had been involved in the Spa Road Junction collision on 08/01/99. It spent over a year out of service stored at Selhurst Depot where it was eventually rebuilt and returned to service in late May 2000. The observant will notice the Bletchley destination which was an aspiration of the the Network SouthEast empire of British Rail and never came to fruition as the line still isn't electrified. Another destination on the 319 blinds which was never reached was Corby.

For the record 319 449 is stabled in Selhurst Cleaning Shed waiting for the evening peak while on the right stands set 319 443 waiting to form 5O91 the 14.10 ECS to London Blackfriars.

DOTS (Drone Operating Tank System) is essentially a supercomputer with treads and guns. DOTS is a Mid-long range tank as it does not have the armor necessary to take on battles on the front-line, for defensive capability's it has several flares and smoke dispensers, but for its main ability it uses a form of invisibility which it uses to escape unnecessary and dangerous battles. This technology can only last for so long which means the tank has to sacrifice potential firepower, armor and offensive ability's for a powerful engine as to power its invisibility, fast movement and the supercomputer that controls its drones. DOTS acts as a hivemind which controls its nearby drones allowing for the drones to communicate to one another effectively and efficiently. Without a DOTS the drones wouldn't be able to operate as desired and wouldn't be able communicate to each other. The drones DOTS operates also help protect itself, mainly the DDS (Defensive Deployment System) The DDS is a four wheeled drone which carries smokes, flares and APS soft kill launchers which help aid other allies and DOTS. The other two drones DOTS operates are the RSA (Rotary Small Arms) and the RMD (Rotary Missile Drone)

For its own firepower the DOTS has one main canon and a 50CAL anti personal turret.

Operating at reduced speed because of the tight curves and close clearances, Denver & Rio Grande Western K-27 #463 emerges from the west portal of the 366 ft. long, "Rock Tunnel" at Milepost 315.20, with a mixed freight bound for Chama, NM via Cumbres Pass.

This image was captured during an October 2024 photo shoot on the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad, which was organized by Lerro Photography. This particular location is one of the more spectacular photo spots on the railroad, but also one of the trickiest to photograph with a large group of people. My camera position here is on an outcropping of rock, which is very uneven, and which features steep drop-offs on all but one side. To my right, it is literally 600 feet down to the bottom of the gorge. It is simply not safe for more than about 10 people at a time on these rocks as all it would take is one clumsy person bumping into another to cause a terrible accident. It is also typically quite windy here, making it difficult to find a nice, stable footing. Suffice it to say that I'm almost always relieved when run-bys here are completed.

Operating on former Milwaukee Road trackage now owned by the states of Iowa and South Dakota, a southbound DAIR, (locally known as the Dakota & Iowa), train crosses the Big Sioux River north of Hawarden, Iowa, March 24, 1994

With loads of rip-rap still needed to repair damage caused to the line by the 1993 midwest flooding, the train crosses the border, (Big Sioux River) between Iowa and South Dakota on a combination wooden trestle and classic iron through truss bridge.

Led by two GP9's, both of Northern Pacific heritage, the 23 was built in February, 1957 as NP 301 which later became BN 1739 and the 24 which was built in February, 1956 as NP 258 and later became BN 1881.

Manners Transport, the company that operates theDAF XG I modelled, specialises in moving agricultural equipment, such as combine harvesters and tractors. Since I already have a truck that carries a harvester, I decided to build a tractor for the Manners truck. This spurred a search for a suitable example, with a colour scheme that'll look good in combination with the truck, and for which suitable wheels are available. These criteria essentially ruled out New Holland (because I don't like the blue in combination with red and yellow) and Claas (lack of suitable wheel rims in red). John Deere was an option, but I ultimately opted for Deutz-Fahr. I had suitable rims in grey and I could use bright green instead of regular Lego green.

The Toden Arakawa Line, also known as the Tokyo Sakura Tram, is a historic tram line in Tokyo, Japan. Operating since 1913, it is one of the last remaining streetcar lines in the city, providing a nostalgic and scenic journey through the neighborhoods of Arakawa, Taito, and Bunkyo wards. The line runs along a 12.2-kilometer route, connecting Waseda Station in Bunkyo Ward with Minowabashi Station in Arakawa Ward.

The Toden Arakawa Line passes by various landmarks and attractions, including Oji Shrine, Asukayama Park, and the Sumida River. It offers passengers a leisurely way to explore Tokyo's traditional neighborhoods and experience the city's old-world charm. Despite its vintage appeal, the line remains a practical mode of transportation for local residents and visitors alike, with modernized tram cars equipped with air conditioning and accessible features.

Riding the Toden Arakawa Line is not just a means of getting from one point to another; it's an opportunity to step back in time and appreciate Tokyo's rich cultural heritage while enjoying a scenic journey through the heart of the city.

Over the years the Green Mountain RR seemed to always operated extras and specials over its 52 mile line. They were proud to show their pride in their operation and continue to do so under the VRS flag. Back during the summer of 1997, a cooperative agreement between GMRC-VTR-CP-NS and NECR created the "Green Mountain Gateway" service, bringing quicker transit times avoiding Conrail and Guilford. To celebrate this new service, a day long extra operated from Albany, NY to Palmer, MA featuring CP Rail, (ST&LH) 7306-7311 leading VTR coaches "Vermont" and McIntyre". The extra is passing Bailey's Mills, just north of Chester, VT on August 20, 1997. And yes folks, the CPR decided it was a good idea to send the 7311 on the trip complete with graffiti courtesy of the locals from Albany.

During the summer season, the Dampfbahn Furka Bergstrecke (DFB) railway company operates steam-powered nostalgia trains on the Realp-Oberwald railway through the Furka pass. This section used to be a part of the Brig-Andermatt main line, but due to the route it was only possible to travel on it in summer, and in winter, the traffic was suspended due to heavy snowfall and avalanches. In late autumn, the overhead wires on the then electrified line were dismantled, the famous Steffenbachbrücke bridge was opened and all tunnels were closed with doors. With the arrival of spring, the line was put into operation again.

This was a very tiring and expensive solution, which is why in the 1970s they started building the Furka base tunnel. After its completion in 1982, the main line trains no longer ran on the mountain line, but in the 15-kilometer tunnel underneath, now at all times of the year.

The mountain section, thus rendered redundant, was saved from demolition by railway enthusiast, and between 1992 and 2010, the abandoned line section was put into operation again section-by-section. Thanks to this, traffic on the line is regular to this day, from the end of June to the end of September, from Thursday to Sunday, DFB steam and diesel-hauled trains run on the mountain track that climbs up to more than 2,000 meters high.

In the picture, the first steam train of the day to Oberwald is leaving Realp station behind.

A Dampfbahn Furka Bergstrecke (DFB) vasúttársaság a nyári szezonban gőzvontatású nosztalgiavonatokat közlekedtet a Furka hágón áthaladó Realp-Oberwald vasútvonalon.
