The epitome of Catalan culture is the Liceo Opera House. One of its most glamorous settings is the Hall of Mirrors. It has allegorÃcal paintings on the ceiling with texts relating to opera and music Most of today's opera goes end up there during intermissions.
I originally posted this photo 3 years ago, I thought it was good then and think it's worth a second look since I'll not be posting photos for the next three or four weeks.
Without a ticket I was not permitted beyond this point as there was a ballet in progress. Stairs and entrances to the theatre.

The Oslo Opera House was completed in 2008.
The roof of the building angles to ground level, creating a large plaza that invites pedestrians to walk up and enjoy the panoramic views of Oslo. While much of the building is covered in white granite and La Facciata, a white Italian carrara marble, the stage tower is clad in white aluminium, in a design by Løvaas & Wagle that evokes old weaving patterns.

My last shot of Sydney - The Opera House is a stunning piece of architecture, it wasn't until I got close to it that I realised the roof structure was covered in glazed (ceramic I think) tiles. I hadn't given any thought before as to what the covering was but the finish gives great photo opportunities for the suns reflection from its surface.

I try to think back when I first saw the Opera House and if I was in awe. I can't remember, but everyone always asks about it when you say you have been in Sydney.
Hotel Opera in Prague is a family-owned four-star hotel built in 1890 in the neo-Renaissance style. Originally acquired by Karel Češka in 1918, it was nationalized during the communist era and fell into disrepair. After the fall of communism, the hotel was returned to the Češka family, who fully restored it between 1994 and 1997. Buxton Opera House is in The Square, Buxton, Derbyshire, England. It is a 902-seat opera house that hosts the annual Buxton Festival and the International Gilbert and Sullivan Festival, among others, as well as pantomime at Christmas, musicals and other entertainments year-round. Hosting live performances until 1927, the theatre then was used mostly as a cinema until 1976. In 1979, it was refurbished and reopened as a venue for live performance.
