Throughout my life, but more-so since coming out, moving to Winnipeg and starting my current job.... I have developed an open mind and curiosity about sexual orientation and gender identity....

I have always tried to look at each person as an individual... but more often now I try to understand their life's path...

NO - it is not a life CHOICE... you don't choose if you are straight, gay or some other sexual orientation.... you don't choose whether you are born a female, or have a female conscious in a male body...

Scientific study has proven it is in our genetic make-up... it's no longer the theory of "nurture vs nature"... it's not a symptom of early sexual abuse or neglect... it's who each of us is!

So I made a new friend, and isn't she sweet, and really pretty too. She said she's nobody. But I explained as a photographer everyday is a nobody until someone makes her a somebody. So let's see what happens in the next 24 hours. Here we go, I have until 1:40 p.m 11-5-17. well, Experimented ended and a day later she had 413 views, so about 17.3 a hour not bad.

Stranger #086/100 - Alteria (Kandidat1)

After Show: Alteria sitting beneath the stage, relaxed, with an enchanting smile - most of the fans have left and she poses for the 1 (&only !) portrait picture exclusively for me :-)

Alteria came to Landshut with her band "Strange Kind of Women" in April 2022 in a second attempt, as the original date for the performance the previous year had been cancelled due to the corona pandemic. Since the visit to the Maschinenhaus Schwabing with the photos of Daniele and Leni, I had not worked on the photo project and so the encounter with Alteria and her colleagues on the stage of the Alte Kaserne in Landshut was like a freshly opened bottle of champagne: It was foaming and bubbling with energy and the "vibes" were positive for all participants in the sense of an extreme peak on the y-axis...

The photos shown previously in the stream give a small impression of the stunning performance of the "girls group" - more photos can be found in my album "Concert". The enthusiasm among the fans was correspondingly great and so I had to wait a long time until the artist was ready for a personal conversation. It was only after the end of the show (and after the rush of "selfie" fans) that I had the opportunity to present my project and ask for a portrait, which Alteria accepted without hesitation and implemented with a warm smile. For me, this photo has a high sentimental value because the forced break due to the officially imposed isolation had massively affected all artists for more than two years and in spring 2022 a development towards "normal life" could finally be seen. The stagnation in the continuation of my project had also led to me having to revive my motivation after this long forced interruption. Photos of nature were no problem, but meeting real people (without an FFP2 mask and 1.5m distance) had to be learned again - a really strange feeling! Despite the technical deficits, this shot marks a turning point after a lengthy phase of imposed distance, which had also made itself felt mentally. I therefore consider the shot a milestone because after a months-long phase of doubt, the positive charisma of Alteria enabled me to find my way back to continuing the project. Attentive followers may notice that there were more than another two years between the recording and publication, but this backlog was mainly caused by qualitative aspects. The related question is: "Beautiful or authentic photos?". Since the aim of the "100 Strangers" project is not only to develop skills for social interaction but also to improve the technical aspects, I struggled for a long time to compensate for technical deficits by editing images. But in my opinion, it is more honest to accept a deficit in the recording and to focus on the encounter than to generate a beautiful and successful image by editing it on the computer (or more recently with the support of an AI).

Somehow I'm too "old school" for that.

I was wandering through Kastellet area, in the north of Copenhagen city looking for fresh air and with a very "touristic" purpose: the famous Marmaid.

Then, as a background of a green damp field, I saw a white thick smoke spit out by three chimneys.

I stood for few minutes watching the smoke merging with the clouds and I've found myself thinking to those days I read one of my favorite books: "Mind over Matter. The Images of Pink Floyd" written by S. Thorgerson and P. Curzon.

I thought about the cover image of "Animals" and, once again, in a very short lapse of time, a photo have been taken.

As already happened in the past, I've found an image without thinking about it. Sometimes I search for a shot for months (years, in few occasions) and nothing emerges from the experiences I live. Sometimes my mind it's empty like that day and I'm able to be much more creative and openminded.

How complex is the trade-off between the creative process of idea generation and their materialization, isn't it?
