This is the screenie for my updated Lua/Cairo script for Conky...Rings v1.2. You can grab it here: conky.linux-hardcore.com/?page_id=2800
Included in the rings are hours, minutes, seconds, cpu1%, cpu2% and total cpu%, battery charge, memory%, the month and day, and the big outer ring (actually it's two drawn together to get the semi-arc look) is used filesystem space. Everything is customisable, including size and spacing of the rings, foreground and background colour and alpha, starting and ending position of the rings and the max value of the ring (e.g. for the hours, it's 12, but for the cpu%, it's 100).
I'm running Crunchbang Linux with Openbox, nothing on the desktop except Conky, no panels or anything (I launch everything with keybindings).
This is a great setup for me because I'm on a netbook with a tiny trackpad and it's easiest to have most things on keybindings rather than scrolling around the screen all the time!
Wallpaper is from fiftyfootshadows.net, and the rings are inspired by (I think?) a Rainmeter program. Font is Santana, available on dafont.com.
More info on how to get images and graphs in Conky is available on the Official Conky Blog: blog.conky.be :)

This is a screenie I made to test my new Conky Widgets script...The basic idea was to write a single Lua script, into which you could dump widget code blocks and then call them all with one simple script out of Conky. In this screenie, the script has two code blocks, one for the clock and one for the rings, and 5 widgets displayed (one clock and 4 rings).

For the Lifehacker Flickr desktop pool. The desktop is Openbox over Ubuntu (10.04!) with a slightly modified Tempura theme and tint2 at the bottom. The key parts I'd draw attention to are the conky bar which has CPU, RAM, temp, battery, load, and indicators for mail activity, as well as all sorts of unobtrusive network activity on the right. The Openbox menu also has all sorts of fun stuff. Shown is where I can get my forecast in just a click or two without opening a browser using the conkyForecast script. Much of the scripts and configs are at github.com/uriel1998/ducking-archer If you have questions (or need a script I've not posted on github) let me know!

took this back in July some time i think, when I was visiting the states. We were waiting for a bus to get into the centre of NY. I'm back in America in 16 days now, very excited!

After running a livedvd of #! (crunchbang linux) i liked it's openbox look so much that I tried to emulate it on my mint machine. This is fairly close to the #! look, although I made a few changes to suit my own style, including the tint2 panel arranged vertically, a few minor changes to the conky system monitor/display utility. Performance is top shelf, although I believe #! has a modded openbox package included with their distro.
Pareidolie:(du grec ancien para-, « à côté de », et eidôlon, « apparence») est une sorte d'illusion d'optique qui consiste à associer un stimulus visuel informe et ambigu à un élément clair et identifiable, souvent une forme humaine ou animale.

Also visible, conky and tint2.

Home-made Oatmeal Chocolate Chip cookies
I've just realized that I never post any open-box picture before.
It just because I think so many people already done so around here and it look all the same so nothing exciting about it.
But now I just have a second thought that it would be helpful in a future if I plan to sell them, then I will have something to refer to as a proof of purchases.
Too bad that I can't find picture of them all due to a phone crashed before I transfer the photo files to my computer.
I'm a busy girl who also have a short memories and bad of keeping track of all things but I will try my best to get as much information as I can tracking and/or that I can recall from my memories.

This is my current desktop, running Openbox on Crunchbang Linux. I don't keep a panel or any icons on my desktop; everything's launched via gmrun or the right-click menu.
The decoration on the desktop is via Conky, which is programmed to show a simple battery bar (I'm on a netbook!), the time/date, and a daily quote stolen from tinybuddha.com with the following command:
${alignr}${execpi 3600 curl --silent 'http://tinybuddha.com' | sed '{:q;N;s/\n/ /g;t q}'|grep -o '[^<]*'|sed 's/[[:blank:]]*//;s/[[:blank:]]*$//'|fold -sw 32 | sed -e 's/^/\${alignr}/' -e 's/ $//g'}
Wallpaper is uncredited, unfortunately, as I got it off the dearly departed 4scrape, so if you know the original, please let me know. Fonts are Santana, available off dafont.com.
