Kara's Summer of Love online class

Journaling: How do I pick between my husband and the new love/best friend - my rescue dog, Friday as the SPINE of my summer? It's a tie. They are both my ROCK. I have never been happier. Perhaps my husband would agree that thanks to Friday we are enjoying our summer MORE as we walk more CONSISTENTLY and we are just so in LOVE with this dog. The best dog on the planet.

Feb. 1 & 2, 2022:

Extending Forward and Return Tunisian Stitches, 3 hours (meets twice for 1.5hr each time).

Details on stitches in this image (published patterns are available in Ravelry and my DesigningVashti.com site):

Clockwise from top left corner of image:

- Across top is Melusine (Ravelry project).

- Lavender shawl is Eilanner (published pattern).

- Embossed Stars (published free pattern).

- A "knooked" extended forward pass (FP) stitches swatch. Knooking is where you remove the Return Pass (RP) stitches after crocheting the next row into it.

- Lime green swatch is extended FP stitches plus pulled-loop RP stitches.

- Bottom 3 stitch patterns: TEKS (Extended Tunisian Knit Stitch) ripples; the two pink ones are swatches. The white one is published as the Ziggy Vest in the book Delicate Crochet by Sharon Silverman. The stitch pattern, variations, and more, will be included in the handout for this class.

March 8 & 9, 2022:

Self-Healing Stitches and How to Cut Them, 2 hours (meets twice for 1 hour each time)

- Green swatches: a triple treble stitch pattern that is uniquely self-healing among shell-type patterns.

- Brown vest: the Maze Vest, published in Interweave Crochet Magazine, Ravelry, and my site (part of a group of variations called Mesmer I think).

- Center of image: Tunisian ripple stitch pattern used for the Ziggy Vest.

Lesson 6:Project Three: Expressing Moods with Color

grief: collage with self-painted papers, 15cm x 15cm (6" x 6")

Painting assignment from Carla Sonheim's online class, Imaginary Creatures.

This one I am not loving. The EYE is really a problem and I am going to go at it today with Gesso. There is also a big, blue line on his head that looks like a dumb hat and a big, blue line beneath him that looks like, um, well... let's just say that I think it's gotta go, too.

I am taking an online class from mixed media artist, Carla Sonheim this week and these are some of my results. It has been great fun creating these guys!

This is for my online class.

This is how I believe how Esperanza looks like. The thing she is holding in her arms is a notebook were she stored all her poems that she wrote secretly in.

With online classes, there is no need for busy work. Professors are not longer forced to find activities for every day of class. Instead, students are able to focus on the material that really matters. It is up to the student to decide if "busy work" matters or not.

To create a safe environment for students and teachers in an online classroom, schools have come up with their own rules or code of conduct for participants to follow while using the online classroom.
