At the farmer's market.

I had been waiting for the opportunity to take this photo for quite a while. At least a year or so. It has always seemed like the perfect place for a sunset in the summer time. This scene is an onion field just outside Salem, OR. It is a large onion field during the summer, and a lake in the winter time.

At the local farmers' market, a great place to find color. Olympus OM10, Kodak Ultramax. (This one covers both film and food for Friday.)

A Macro Mondays submission on the topic "Onion family". A small onion, backlit.

I have become addicted to the constant noise of the political news lately and have let my youtube play on autoplay in the background for weeks. My ability to concentrate on anything has been highly diminished. This morning the silence is welcome. I am just listening to house sounds, my dog chewing on a bone, my husband sleeping, the hum of the computer, an occasional airplane. My mind is able to relax, not worried about what I may be missing but staying focused on my task at hand. Meditation has never really worked for me but I can tell I need to move away from the constant drive to stay up on events and focus on myself and family.

Anyone else been feeling this way?

how these grabbed my attention as I saw them in Linsley's kitchen...all from her garden....

Life is like an onion. You peel it off one layer at a time, and sometimes you weep.
