This aircraft was delivered to BOC Aviation Leasing and leased to Cathay Pacific Airways as B-KPL in full 'OneWorld' Alliance livery in Oct-09. It was withdrawn from service in late Jun-20 due to the COVID-19 Pandemic and initially stored at Hong Kong.
It never returned to service and was moved to Alice Springs, NT, Australia in Oct-20 for long-term storage. The aircraft returned to Hong Kong in Jul-21 and ferried to Xiamen, China in Aug-21 for maintenance. It was also repainted all white and returned to Hong Kong in Sep-21
In early Nov-21 the aircraft was ferried to Doha, Qatar and returned to the lessor as 2-LPKB. It was leased to Qatar Airways as A7-BOB in late Nov-21 to cover for their grounded airbus A350's. It continues in service. Updated 03-Dec-25.

It is great to visit London Gatwick again after a nearly 2 year absence, the last time was after breaking my left elbow and what would have been my trip away to Southern California...
British Airways maintains an operating base at London Gatwick, the vast majority of their short-haul flights are operated by their EuroFlyer subsidiary as to better compete against the growing amount of low-cost airlines based at the airport. Meanwhile, British Airways still operates the long-haul flights themselves with a dedicated fleet of Boeing 777-200ERs.
The Gatwick-based Boeing 777-200ERs are some of the more quirky sub-fleets by British Airways; ever since COVID-19, British Airways has consolidated their London Gatwick long-haul base whereby First Class would no longer be offered, instead whilst the aircraft would feature refurbished interiors, they would continue to retain the previous-generation Club World seats.
Today, British Airways have 12 Boeing 777-200ERs based at London Gatwick split between 6 examples each fitted with either General Electric GE90 or Rolls-Royce Trent 800 engines, the latter which can be used on longer range flights owing to them being fitted with crew rest facilities. It is not uncommon for British Airways to deputise one of their London Heathrow-based Boeing 777-200ERs (typically the 3-class examples) over at Gatwick to fill-in for unavailable aircraft.
For the Rolls-Royce Boeing 777-200ERs at London Gatwick, these consist of the eldest 6 examples that were delivered with 3-class interiors since new and spent the majority of their operating lives out of London Heathrow. Previously, G-YMMR/S had been long-term based at London Gatwick since 2013, however by 2016, the eldest 3-class Boeing 777-200ERs began appearing sporadically. As they began to be refurbished, by 2019 would see G-YMMA-F being based at London Gatwick whilst G-YMMR/S would return back to London Heathrow.
For G-YMMF, the airframe had been a long-time London Heathrow resident until late-2019 when refurbished into leisure-configuration for use from London Gatwick where she has remained ever since. Rather surprisingly in early-2023, she was repainted and received Oneworld titles, a rarity as previously their Boeing 747-400s originally featured these colours until their premature retirement. She is amongst 2 Boeing 777-200ERs based at London Gatwick to feature these colours.
Currently, British Airways operates 59 Boeing 777s, which includes 43 Boeing 777-200ERs and 16 Boeing 777-300ERs. British Airways have 18 Boeing 777-9s on-order.
Yankee Mike Mike Foxtrot is one of 43 Boeing 777-200ERs operated by British Airways, delivered new to the flag-carrier on 17th May 2000 and she is powered by 2 Rolls-Royce Trent 895 engines. She has carried Oneworld colours since February 2023.

Ever since the retirement of the Boeing 747-400 within British Airways back in 2020, the flag-carrier has lacked a commercial airliner to feature Oneworld logo-jet colours, something of a pre-requisite as an airline alliance member that a small portion of the fleet should feature such colour scheme.
Prior to COVID-19, plans were already afoot to repaint their Boeing 777-200ER fleet into Oneworld colours as the Boeing 747-400s continued to be whittled down, however that plan was postponed following the global downturn in air traffic during the pandemic. 6 Boeing 777-200ERs were initially chosen to carry the livery, but in the end only 4 so far carry Oneworld colours.
Throughout the introduction of Oneworld logo-jets, British Airways for over a decade did not paint any narrow-body jets in Oneworld colours, with Boeing 747-400s and now Boeing 777-200ERs chosen. Towards the end of 2023, a surprise saw the first Airbus A320 appear in Oneworld colours after repainting in Shannon, with G-EUYR the first treated in November 2023, followed by 2 more similarly aged Airbus A320s a month later.
Compared to the Boeing 777-200ERs, the Airbus A320s wear the Oneworld colours much better, not looking as squashed and certainly makes a somewhat mundane fleet of short-haul aircraft more interesting.
Currently, British Airways operates 117 Airbus A320 family aircraft, which includes 29 Airbus A319s, 55 Airbus A320s, 20 Airbus A320neos and 13 Airbus A321neos. British Airways have 13 Airbus A320neos and 7 Airbus A321neos on-order.
Echo Uniform Yankee Romeo is one of 55 Airbus A320s operated by British Airways, delivered new to the flag-carrier on 21st November 2013, leased from BBAM since December 2013 and she is powered by 2 International Aero Engines IAE V2527-A5 engines. She has carried Oneworld colours since November 2023.

One of the lesser known flag-carriers to operate from the Persian Gulf, Oman Air's presence is considerably smaller compared to other airlines operating in the region. In recent years and following COVID-19, Oman Air has had to downsize owing to lower demand and select routes becoming unprofitable.
Despite this, Oman Air did have long-term ambitions and one of them was to become aligned with one of the 3 major airline alliances. Oman Air confirmed their intention to join Oneworld in mid-2021 which they'd officially become a member by 2022, however this was repeatedly delayed thereafter to 2024, until finally joining on 30th June 2025.
At present, Oman Air has yet to return back to pre-pandemic operations between London Heathrow and Muscat, the flag-carrier still operating a single daily flight (WY101/102) using 3-class Boeing 787-9s. This is expected to change for the W25 schedule from 25th October 2025 as Oman Air increases flights between the 2 destinations; WY103/104 will be reinstated initially operating 4-times weekly operating excluding Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with Boeing 787-9s being utilised... Don't be surprised to see this go daily in the future.
Currently, Oman Air operates 9 Boeing 787s, all of which are Boeing 787-9s. Oman Air have 6 Boeing 787-9s on-order.
Sierra Golf is one of 9 Boeing 787-9s operated by Oman Air, delivered new to the flag-carrier on 30th October 2018 and she is powered by 2 General Electric GEnx-1B engines.

This one has been repainted into the new standard JAL livery, and the oneworld livery has been applied to another 777-200ER (JA708J).
One of the most recent aircraft with BA to receive Oneworld company logos goes to Victor Delta which adds to the growing collection of 747's that carry the scheme.
The 747 is arriving from one of the most well-known cities in the United States, Las Vegas which BA operate not only from Heathrow with four-class configuration using 747's but also from Gatwick using three-class configuration using 777's. The Gatwick to Las Vegas route is largely a leisure route.
Victor Delta was new to British Airways in December 1994 and its likely the aircraft will be withdrawn around 2017-2018.
