At the end of every semester, ITP students show off their warez. Probably the most inspiring thing you'll see all year. (full disclaimer: this is where I went to grad school :)

... Ping me tomorrow if you want a semi-guided tour. I haven't seen the projects there, but sometimes it helps to have an alum to explain away the chaos.
I was there for 2 hour and only saw about half the show... looks like i'm going back tomorrow :)

Day One-Hundred and Six, "On the Go" theme, twenty seventh shot.
The toilets, one of the common facilities of the camping, is also one of the weirdest structure I've ever encountered. At night its resemblance with a U.F.O. is almost astonishing... I've to admit that the rest of the camping is quite weird too, I think I'll post some other pics in the next days.
Post production with Photo Forge 2 (this last week should have been devoted to Photoshop Touch, but it saves images no larger than 12 Mpx and I'm not fine with downscaling so much the 24 Mpx RX1's jpegs). Cropping, sharpening, and a bit of shadows and highlights tuning.

WARDROBE
ALL TEAM MEMBERS MUST READ AND UNDERSTAND THE WARDROBE INFORMATION
REMEMBER YOU NEED TO DRESS TO IMPRESS. You are coming to appear on
television, and you need to dress accordingly. You must have a total
of three outfits (bring two, wear one). Your clothing has to be clean
and pressed and have no slogans or logos (i.e. POLO, TOMMY, DKNY).
PLEASE DO NOT BRING DARK CLOTHING!! You cannot wear ALL dark
clothing, dark bottoms (slacks & skirts) are fine but you have to wear
brightly colored tops. BRIGHT, BOLD colors look best on camera and
with our set. If you wear all black or dark clothing you will not
appear on the show. NO BLUE TOPS’. Due to the color of our
background blue tops don’t look good on the show. PLEASE AVOID
FLORESCENT & PALE COLORS (such as light yellow and pink), as they are
too bright for television. Also, avoid MIRRORS, SPARKLES OR
RHINESTONES on all clothing. If you have an item of clothing you
love, but doesn’t quite meet our standards, bring it with you and we
will review it during your wardrobe check. Your entire body will be
seen on camera. You must wear nice pants or skirts and nice shoes.
We understand you want to express your own personal style but IF YOU
DO NOT FOLLOW THE GUIDELINES SET, YOU WILL NOT APPEAR ON THE SHOW.
Please call us if you have any questions.
**If you serve in the U.S. Military we would like you to wear your uniform.**
*WOMEN:
NO White clothing (Absolutely None), Polka dots, checks, stripes, busy prints
NO Jeans, Casual Pants (Capris) or Denim
NO Formal evening wear
NO Tennis or athletic shoes, sandals
NO Turtlenecks
*MEN:
NO White clothing (Absolutely None)
NO Polka dots, checks, stripes, plaid, small busy prints, especially on your ties.
NO Jeans or denim, Athletic or tennis shoes
YOU MUST WEAR A BELT
**Your shirt must be a long sleeve dress shirt and it must be pressed**
Bring at least three different colored, long sleeve shirts, several
ties and at least one extra pair of slacks. If you own a suit jacket
please bring it with you. We prefer you wear a lighter colored suit.
You can bring a dark colored suit (black, navy or dark grey) provided
you wear a brightly colored dress shirt and that others on your team
are not wearing dark colors. Again, if you wear all dark colors you
will not appear on the show.
HAIR & MAKE-UP
YOUR HAIR AND MAKE-UP MUST BE DONE AT HOME BEFORE ARRIVING AT THE
STUDIO. We know that some women and young girls do not wear make-up.
However, when you appear on camera it is necessary for women over 15
years of age to wear make-up base, lipstick and mascara. If you don’t
wear some makeup, the bright studio lights will make you look very
washed out (i.e. YOU WILL LOOK BAD ON TV). We do not supply make-up
for health reasons. Please arrive with your hair & make-up done, there
will only be time for you to do touch ups. EVERYTHING IS ON A
SCHEDULE AND TIME IS PRECIOUS!
... and the ad is easier to read than the article (cause the font size in the article is so small... I imagine this is intentional?)
Compare this with a screenshot of the PS3 game here:

Back in my NYU days (2004) we were scheming up ways to watch MLB and NFL games on our mobile phones... long before any bandwidth / licensing issues were resolved. We were toying around with the idea of using live-data feeds from games and reproducing the action with 8-bit NES sprites - think: watching the Red Sox and Pats play only acted out with RBI Baseball and Techo Bowl graphics.
How awesome would that have been?!
Having a birds-eye-view of a baseball game MMS'ed to your phone (or even set as your phone's locked-state wallpaper)...

Or watching an NFL game on your phone or via browser window rendered like this...

These days, while the bandwidth issues are figured out, the licensing issues are not (you still can't watch NFL games via the internet). It's super smart to see people experimenting w/ using PS3 style graphics to get around some of these restrictions.
These are the rules from 2002 (after I came back to NYC after working as a snowboard instructor!). Seeing that, er, I still don't have a job, let's update them for 2008.
1. Leave your apt before noon every day.
2. Exercise every day (works well with #1)
3. No drinking before 5pm.
4. No watching TV / no reading blogs before 5pm (except during lunch).
5. No taking taxis.
6. No eating meals when drunk.
ps: orignally from here - dont miss the haikus!
